Saying Good-Bye to Mayor Harry Price

It is with great sadness that we announce that Mayor Harry T. Price passed away early in the morning on December 16th.

Mayor Price was just about to complete his fourth term in office but has served the public in one capacity or another for the majority of his life. Mayor Price truly loved his community and was a great advocate for Travis Air Force Base and quality youth programs. His presence will be keenly missed.

There is no additional information at this time.

Please keep the Price family in your thoughts and prayers.

Boys Basketball

Wood goes 1-2 at Davis Tournament

The Will C. Wood boys basketball team went 1-2 over the weekend at the Davis Tournament.

On Thursday Wood lost to Whitney 74-51.

Jayden Hamilton-Holland led Wood with 23 points and Isiah Dixon added eight points and Nigel Rogers and Julian Martinez put in seven points each.

“We played really well but let one quarter get away from ourselves,” Wood head coach Mark Wudel said.

On Friday Wood bounced back with a 58-47 win over Roseville.

“We played a great first half and then came out in the third quarter and couldn’t do anything,” Wudel said. “We gave up the lead in the fourth quarter only to come back and not let them score in the final four minutes and get the win.”

Dixon led Wood 17 points and Hamilton-Holland added 14 points. Martinez contributed 10 points.

Finally on Saturday, Wood lost to El Camino 59-51

“We let down in the second quarter where we couldn’t do anything right and the game got away from us,” Wudel said. “We battled back and tied the game with two minutes to go. We missed some shots and free throws at the end and had to foul and put them on the line. They made their free throws and sealed the win.

Dixon and Hamilton-Holland each scored 17 points to lead the team. Wood is now 7-4 on the season.

Fairfield Police Department's Santa Kept the Dream Alive for 1,251 of Fairfield's Children this Holiday Season.

Fairfield, all of you helped make Operation FFPD Santa 2022 an unbridled success!

For the second year in a row, the Fairfield Police Department bundled Santa into his sleigh and gave him a ride to several of Fairfield's neighborhoods, while the reindeer stayed behind to prep for the big day back at the North Pole.

For six nights, Lieutenant Kresha and Officers Rolando Sanchez and Keith Pulsipher took turns delighting your children (and giving parents a heads up on their Christmas lists) as they fully embodied Santa and the holiday spirit. (Also, if you happen to make them laugh and they belt out, "Ho, ho, ho" instead of their regular chuckles - don't worry, it'll wear off. That's just what happens where you're fully committed. It's called method acting).

Our Explorers were your trusty elves, and members from Patrol, Crime Prevention and Code Enforcement helped bring everything together. Thanks for trusting us with your children and with the task of perpetuating the magic of Christmas! Happy Holidays!

P.S. Rudolph flew in (commercial, since he's conserving his energy for Saturday night) to pick up Santa and took a picture with Officers Merry and Bright while here. They posed with some of the letters Santa received over the last couple of weeks.

Cliff Howard

Co-Owner and Winemaker of Tolenas Winery

Cliff Howard is a winemaker in Suisun Valley, California, who founded Tolenas Winery with his wife, Lisa Howard, in 2015. Though the winery is now one of his life’s passions, the wine industry wasn’t initially on Cliff’s career path. After serving as an Arizona police officer for over a decade, Cliff left his day job to move to California and learn how to manage the day-to-day operations of a winery. Never one to shy away from hard work, Cliff fell in love with the process of winemaking and the opportunity to learn a new craft alongside his family. Today, he is the glue that holds Tolenas Winery together, overseeing the company’s land planning, finances, and marketing initiatives.

Cliff was born and raised in Michigan. After graduating from high school, Cliff moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University (ASU), where he graduated with a degree in Justice Studies. He then attended the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy, graduating as a Police Officer for the City of Phoenix. A few years later, Cliff decided to return to ASU to pursue a Masters in Legal Studies with a focus on Criminal Law.

While living in Arizona, Cliff met Lisa on a blind date and fell in love. They later married and began a family together. In the early years of their marriage, Cliff recalls dabbling in the process of fermentation. Cliff and his friends brewed their own beer at home, while Lisa and Cliff brewed kombucha in their kitchen. This hobby would eventually become their new life’s calling.

When a 55-acre property became available in Suisun Valley, California—Lisa’s hometown—Cliff and Lisa jumped at the opportunity to move closer to Lisa’s parents, Steve and Linda Tenbrink, and try their hand at farming. Though the couple set out to farm prunes, walnuts, and wine grapes, Steve and Linda—farmers, winemakers, and owners of Tenbrink Winery and Vineyards—encouraged Cliff and Lisa to pursue winemaking instead. Steve then taught both Cliff and Lisa everything he knew about the trade. The process of winemaking became Cliff and Lisa’s new passion, and it was out of this shared passion that Tolenas Winery was born.

For the last five years, Cliff has found his niche wearing multiple hats and taking a hands-on approach in all areas of the Tolenas Winery business. At the winery, he is able to use all of the skills he has gathered throughout his career, from winemaking and sales to storytelling and event planning, but it is his people skills that shine brightest. Cliff loves building relationships with customers, sharing the Tolenas story and his own personal winemaking journey over a taste of their award-winning wines. He enjoys his time spent in the tasting room pouring wine and seeing the smiles on guests’ faces, knowing that he has helped to enhance someone’s joy and appreciation for wine.

Today, Cliff and Lisa continue to operate Tolenas Winery with the help of their family. They are dedicated to producing small-batch bottles of wine with a flavor and quality that speaks to the terrior of the Suisun Valley.
