Greetings!

I love the month of March - it usually coincides with the Hebrew month of Adar, a time where we should experience joy each day. In my house, this means celebrating two birthdays along with the Jewish holiday of Purim. March also means the weather begins to change, spring is around the corner and we are 100 days from entering the best summer ever at CYJ!

As we get ready for the 2022 season, we want to update our CYJ family about some of the amazing things happening at camp. Check out our “Top Three” list this month:

Summer 2022 Recruitment and Staff Hiring
This summer, we are thrilled to be welcoming campers and staff from 18 different states, along with Australia, England, France, Hungary, Israel, and Mexico. It’s not too late to join our 2022 family - either as a camper or as a staff member. If you are interested, please be in touch with Rachel Ruskin, Camp Life Director, at [email protected] or check out the staff hiring page for more information. We also want to thank so many of you for sharing CYJ with a friend. With our “Share the Magic” Referral program, everyone in our community earns hugs, high fives AND a choice of tuition dollars, camp swag or a donation.

Lighting Up Camp (and our Community)
We are lighting up camp this summer and not just with moonlight. We are adding new outdoor lighting on our tennis, basketball and volleyball courts to have even more fun when it gets dark. Also, we are heading into our second year of the Yedid Nefesh program supported by the Foundation for Jewish Camp. This program enhances our work to strengthen the mental, emotional, social and spiritual health of our community. Check out this awesome article from the Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle sharing how we tackled this challenge in 2021.

The Chickens Are Back
Our campers have been asking - yes, the chickens will be returning for another year at CYJ. Our partners at Royal Roost will be bringing us four chickens that will need new names. My personal favorites are Wingston Churchill, Cluck Vader and Meggatron. Email me your favorite and we will throw it in the mix for this summer’s naming ceremony.

Wishing you and your family a Happy Purim,

Robin Anderson
