100 Reasons to Celebrate!

It's former Mayor Sam Nader's 100th birthday celebration at Damaschke Field this Saturday!  It's also the 50th Anniversary Reunion of the 1969 Oneonta Yankees!  And it's a FREE ballgame.
So the party's at the ballpark!!
Get there early, because the place should be packed.

Need another reason to celebrate?
Saturday night is also the Epic Outdoor Dance Party at the West Kortright Centre.

And it's another running of our local bluestrain, The Cooperstown Blues Express.

In fact, there's music and dance all over the area. But, you don't have to wait for the weekend.

Thursday n ight (that's tonight!) it's the kick off performance at the NBT Free Summer Concert Series in Norwich , with the Keeshea Pratt Band.
(The summer series is brought to you by the folks who produce the Chenango Blues Festival.)

And for something completely different... there are steam powered trains (and a ton of entertainment) in Milford this weekend.

GREAT STUFF and all the more reason to cheer!

Happy Birthday, Sam!!
Three cheers to you!

Enjoy it the weekend.
We'll see you back here next Thursday.

Possessing Harriet, a new play by Kyle Bass
In 1839, Harriet Powell, a young, mixed-race, enslaved woman slips away from a hotel in Syracuse, New York, and escapes, finding temporary safe harbor in the home of impassioned abolitionist Gerrit Smith. With the slave catchers in pursuit, Harriet spends the hours before her nighttime escape to Canada in the company of Smith's young cousin Elizabeth Cady, an outspoken advocate for women's equality. As both women confront new and difficult ideas about race, identity, and equality, Harriet is forced to the precipice of a radical reckoning with the heartrending cost of freedom.
