To all of our Buffalo, NY friends, family and colleagues, our cancelled Burchfield Penny event this past November has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 4th at 2:00pm, for a free public screening of the award winning film, 100 Years From Mississippi, directed by Buffalo native, Tarabu Betserai Kirkland. The screening is in collaboration with the LEROI: Living in Color Exhibition and will be followed by a live, in person discussion between Tarabu and his longtime friend, artist LeRoi Johnson. Tickets are free and on a first come, first-served basis; no registration is required. 

The film will also screen at Canisius College, Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00pm at the Winter Student Union Regis Rooms, and on Buffalo/Toronto Public Media, WNED PBS on Monday, February 20th at 10:00pm.

Over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, 100 Years From Mississippi is being broadcast on PBS stations across the country in the SF Bay Area, Washington DC, Baltimore, Cleveland, Youngstown and five stations in Montana—today (Tuesday, Jan. 17th & Friday, Jan. 20th), look for it in Washington, DC on WHUT and in Ohio on PBS Western Reserve (2 stations)! Also, during Black History Month the film will screen at the Indianapolis Black Documentary Film Festival's Black History Month Festival in Indiana, St. Mary's College in Moraga, California and six PBS stations on Wisconsin Public Television.
