Lord God,

As we begin this day, bless us with your protection and guide our thoughts, words and actions so they may please you in every way. May our actions be like salts that flavor the life of the people we meet today. Make our words also be a light to guide and strengthen them.

Grant all this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

This week, as we continue our centennial celebration, we will bring you the beauty and serenity of the various gardens found throughout the sanctuary.

Today: The Stations of the Cross Forest

The Grotto's Stations of the Cross Path

A circular path beginning near the parking area leads to the Stations of the Cross. These 14 Stations of the Cross in bronze were purchased by Fr. Ambrose Mayer, OSM, founder of The Grotto, in 1930. They were stored at the Monastery until 1936 until they were moved to their current location at the base of the cliff.

The 14 Stations are surrounded by ferns, moss, shrubs and a majestic forest.

It's hard to believe you are in the middle of the city while traveling the path.

The path is mostly shaded, with rays of sunshine coming through the trees.

Dogs, properly restrained, are allowed on the plaza level at The Grotto. This path is a great place to experience with your pet.
