Marc Desmidt
Head of Asia Pacific, Point72

Marc Desmidt is Head of Asia Pacific and Sector Executive for Asia ex-Japan. Mr. Desmidt oversees the operations of the Firm’s Asia-Pacific offices and drives Point72’s strategic objectives throughout the region. He is based in Hong Kong. Mr. Desmidt joined Point72 from BlackRock where he worked in several senior roles across the Asian region. Most recently he was Head of Strategic Product, responsible for the direction and execution of BlackRock’s product suite across all asset classes.Previous to this Mr. Desmidt held a number of Investment management related roles. These included Head of Alpha Strategies, managing multiple teams across asset classes throughout Asia Pacific. Mr. Desmidt also managed a number of Investment Funds over the course of his more than twenty years in Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. Mr. Desmidt earned his B.A. from the University of Cape Town and his M.S. from the University of Oxford. He is an active proponent of initiatives to empower women, and supports the organizations Room to Read, Mother’s Choice, and Asian University for Women.

Jonathan Xiong
Co-CEO, Millennium Asia

Jonathan Xiong is Co-Chief Executive Officer, APAC and is responsible for the daily oversight and management of the region. Prior to joining Millennium in 2018, Jonathan was Head of Fixed Income Alternatives and the lead portfolio manager for the GS Global Opportunities Fund at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). His responsibilities expanded across multiple strategies within private and public markets. Prior to joining GSAM, he was a Managing Director and senior portfolio manager at Mellon Capital Management for over 10 years, responsible for systematic global macro strategies trading across equity, fixed income, currency, and commodity markets. He started his career at boutique asset management firm McMorgan & Company where he was a Portfolio Analyst. Jonathan received a BS in Finance from San Francisco State University. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Danny Yong
CIO & Founder Partner, Dymon Asia

Danny Yong is the co-founder and CIO of Dymon Asia Capital. He is the CIO of the firm’s flagship Multi-Strategy Investment Fund (MSIF) and sits on the investment committee of Dymon Asia Private Equity. Before founding Dymon Asia in 2008, Danny was a founding partner and CIO of Abax Global Capital, a hedge fund based in Hong Kong. Previously a Managing Director at Citadel Investment Asia, Danny established and ran the Asia Macro trading business from 2005 to 2007. Prior to Citadel, he was Head of Trading for South East Asian FX and Derivatives at Goldman Sachs, where he spent almost six years in its Hong Kong and Tokyo offices. Danny started his trading career at JP Morgan in 1997 as a FX currency and interest rate derivatives trader. He is Chairman of The Majurity Trust, a philanthropic organization that works with donors and charities to build a thriving and sustainable community for all in Singapore.

Ginny Cheok
Director - Prime Brokerage Sales, BNP Paribas

Ginny leads BNP Paribas’ Prime Solutions & Financing - Prime Brokerage Sales team in Singapore, focusing on securing new and organic financing mandates and managing relationships with global and local hedge funds, asset managers, family offices and sovereign wealth funds. Prior to joining BNP Paribas in 2018, Ginny was Head of Prime Client Servicing/Relationship Management for Asia Pacific at Citigroup in Hong Kong. Before that, she began her career in trading at Morgan Stanley becoming the Singapore Head of Client Coverage within their Prime Brokerage division. During her ten years at Morgan Stanley, Ginny worked in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong, later relocating to Singapore. As a strong believer in gender diversity, Ginny serves on the 100 Women in Finance - Education committee in Singapore, through which she advocates for gender equality in career progression, achievement and impact within the industry. Internally, Ginny works to promote female leadership and empowerment by co-leading the Retention Stream of the ‘Women in Global Markets’ initiative designed to drive positive change towards gender equality at BNP Paribas. Ginny holds an Executive MBA degree from Rutgers University and a Bachelor in Business Administration from The City University of New York’s Bernard M. Baruch College.
