Bringing the multicultural, creative spirit of Ezra Jack Keats
into children's lives and literature
June 2016

Dear Friends,

Somehow, it’s already June, and the school year is nearly over. For us, it means that Ezra’s centennial year is at the halfway mark. But just because it’s summer doesn’t mean birthday activities are ebbing. While school parties may be on hiatus, libraries, museums and parks are getting into the act! Please check our Calendar to see if there's a party near you!

And if you’re in the New York area this weekend, June 9-11, please join us for the EJK Birthday Blowout Weekend!

Big Blowout Birthday Bash

Spend the weekend with Ezra in Brooklyn, June 9-11: Come for a picture-book giveaway, stay for a fabulous free family concert. And in between, a favorite storytelling site becomes a Literary Landmark. Happy 100th!

Before school ends, take a look at the highlights of NYC’s 2016 Bookmaking Awards. As always, the ceremony was a treat, and the catalogue is a rewarding online browse.

Have a great, great summer, and we'll see you in September!

Sincerely,

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action).

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
