Campylobacter has been implicated in outbreaks associated with poultry products, unpasteurized milk, and contaminated water sources.

A center pivot irrigation system intended to pump livestock wastewater onto adjacent farmland in Nebraska malfunctioned, allowing excessive run- off to collect in a road ditch near two wells that fed a municipal water supply, sickening 39 persons who consumed untreated city water. The use of culture-independent diagnostic tests facilitated case identification allowing for rapid public health response.

Access to clean water sources continues to be an important public health issue, and public health professionals should consider exposure to untreated water sources as a potential cause of Campylobacter outbreaks.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lists Campylobacter as one of the top 10 Causes of outbreaks in public water systems. The best way to ensure that cryptosporidium or other contaminants will not invade your tank sediment is to remove it. Is there a STANDPIPE in your water system? Our underwater cameras make quick work out of inspecting it. We can get a look all the way down to the bottom!

We also have the perfect tool to clean it! Wallie is our ROBOT Standpipe Cleaner for tanks over 70 feet deep.

These structures present many problems for our potable water dive crew. Wallie is able to work at depth until the tank is clean. He is equipped with two cameras and a cleaning tip so he can not only clean the tank, but get great documentation as he goes.
