THE MURPHY THEATRE

CONGRATULATES

A FEW FRIENDS

on their recent induction into the 2026 class of Outstanding Women

of Clinton County.

Audrey Wagstaff, Kirstin Harris, and Officer Kelly Grogan all serve our community well, and set fine examples of kindness, confidence, humility,

and selflessness. Well done,

ladies of substance!

11 Things From Steve | March 3, 2026 | Issue 7

Speaking of substance, if you want to read my latest newspaper column, walk, don’t run to the nearest seller of fine literature and snag a copy of this past weekend’s edition of The Connector, if there are any left.

We’re growing again and looking for help with graphic design, communications, and marketing efforts. Interested in learning more? Drop me a line for more info.

SMARTY PANTS TRIVIA

Due to an unfortunate bout of illness, we must cancel Smarty Pants Trivia this evening. Please STAY TUNED for updates on future episodes of intelligent leg wear.

WE ARE ORDERING YOU TO MARCH FORTH, ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH FOURTH...

...to the world-famous Fiesta Veracruz, as we mark the triumphant return of the much ballyhooed, Wednesday Murphy Fundraisers.

What do you need to do? EAT, that’s it, and 15% of your food bill on Wednesday will be donated right back to your overly worthy friends at The Murphy Theatre. But you MUST proclaim to your server your love for The Murphy Theatre. Thank you in advance for your participation and thank you, Victor, and his awesome staff, for your generosity.

MATILDA

East Clinton High School presents their musical Matilda this coming Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 here on the Murphy stage. Come support some great local high school talent directed by THE Kristi Grover. This marks Kristi’s 100th year directing the East Clinton High school musical. I might be off on that number. Tickets are available by visiting eastclinton.org, or by following the link on our website, or by clicking HERE.

It’s pronounced

like “Madden”,

but it’s Hadden,

Hadden Sayers

Celebrate Pi Day on Saturday, March 14 with Grammy Award and Blues Music Award winner Hadden Sayers and Back to the Blues, the Ultimate Tribute to the Blues, featuring the Howlin’ Horns. Hadden is one of our favorite artists, and you’ve enjoyed him over the years when he appeared with Phil Dirt and the Dozers and his previous solo concerts. Check out a sample of his work here. All seats are just $40.00, so get’em here.

If you love the band CHICAGO, then March is YOUR lucky month!

The premiere Chicago tribute band, BEGINNINGS, takes our stage Saturday night, March 21 at 7:30. These guys will play all your favorites from the band that had more number one hits over multiple decades than just about any other band in history. Tickets are on sale now, so get yours while the getting is good.

COFFEE AND CHEESECAKE CINEMA RETURNS

Before you know it, our second Coffee and Cheesecake Cinema will be here, and I’ll be shoving cheesecake down my pie hole. Sunday, March 22, we will present a 2:00 showing of the 1967 American romantic comedy/drama Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, starring Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier, and Katharine Hepburn. Just $10 for the afternoon, and free for Murphy Members. Please note the new start time for the movie. Coffee, Cheesecake, and friendly conversation to follow the film. Attendees will vote on the next movie in this bi-monthly Sunday film series. We hope to see you here. If you’re planning to attend, just drop us a note...a phone call or email so we can make sure we have enough cheesecake. It would be a crime to run out, and I would be embarrassed if I ate a slice that was meant for you...or would I?

ALL-AMERICAN COUNTRY DUO

You’ve seen them during season four of NBC’s The Voice, including the big season finale’ and The Swon Brothers haven’t slowed their meteoric rise. We are so lucky to be bringing this chart-topping original act to The Murphy on Saturday, March 28 at 7:30. Here’s a snippet of some of their work. Great seats remain, and you can secure your tickets right here.

BE THE CHOSEN ONE,

TO BREAK OUR RECORD!

Thank you to those who have already renewed your Murphy Theatre membership, and to those who have joined the Murphy family for the very first time.

We are mere days away from breaking our Membership record for a fifth consecutive year, set in July of last year, so we could realistically surpass last year’s numbers nearly four months ahead of schedule. All that’s missing is YOU.

If you’re still on the fence about taking out or renewing your membership, first, remove yourself from the fence. Nothing good can come from being on a fence; take it from someone who was on a fence when he was nine and only has one child. But second of all, after you peruse our site and see the variety of our offerings, something for everyone really, you will tremble with enthusiasm and the desire to be the one to break the record, and if you are, we will present you with your very own Murphy Theatre crew neck sweatshirt, or Murphy Hoodie! Learn more about 2026 Murphy Memberships and all the perks you can enjoy, by clicking here.

Our Hours

Our normal weekly office hours are Tuesdays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. We will remain closed on Sundays and Mondays, and our box office will open ninety minutes prior to our concerts and other live events, and one hour prior to our movies, unless otherwise noted.

SAVE THE DATE

Make plans for next year’s Valentine’s Day weekend early.

We’re bringing back the internationally acclaimed Scottish group SKERRYVORE! Yes, we’ve already booked them for next year, so if you missed them this year, and you’ve heard the stories of how special that evening was here, you have no excuse for not being in the know about their return. Tickets are not on sale yet, but we wanted you to save the date, Friday, February 12 at 7:30.

BANDSINTOWN is a site

often used by artists

and their ticket links should direct you

to our website.

Still, we advise using caution;; it's always safest to go directly to our site.

These sites sell overpriced tickets and we will not be able to accommodate your purchasing error, because in some instances your tickets will be fake and these overpriced seats simply don’t exist. This is happening to venues all over the country. You must physically type in www.themurphytheatre.org, to get to our site and proceed with your online ticket purchases. If you just type in, “The Murphy Theatre”, and/or the name of the concert you want to attend, WE PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL BE DIRECTED

TO THE WRONG SITE!

When in doubt, just give us a shout.
