That is quite an illuminating Duck

FAMILY-FOCUSED FUN RETURNS

Lightwire Theatre, that amazing troupe that brought us last year’s unforgettable production of Moon Mouse, returns Saturday at 5:00, with their latest glow-in-the-dark masterpiece, the classic tale of

The Ugly Duckling.

Our Hot Dog Dinner Theatre promotion was such a hit with Buckets and Boards in February that we’re bringing it back with this show. Tickets are $25 for adults, and $10 for the kiddos, and all tickets include a hot dog (bun included), a non-alcoholic beverage, and a side of chips or a small popcorn. This deal is even better than the Louisiana Purchase. One stop, feed the family, and see a show. And you know it’s quality dining, because it’s a hot dog for goodness’ sake. Great seats remain, and doors open at 3:30, so you have time to fill your belly before the performance because we need to darken the entire theatre for this show. Don't miss this remarkable theatrical experience.

Special thanks to the Clinton County Convention & Visitors Bureau for their support of Family Friendly Programming and Hot Dog Dinner Theatre.

SMARTY PANTS TRIVIA

..is back, and the world is a much better place because of it. Tuesday, April 7, our 41st Quiz-fest Anniversary celebration will rock your world with questionable questions, laughter, and finger pointing.

Sure, any old bar can host a night of trivia, but how many offer you all the fun and prizes we guarantee?

Charlie’s doors open at 5:45, and the first question flutters from my perky pouty lips at 6:30. Just $5 to play, and Murphy Members play for...wait for it...FREE!

Charlie’s crew will be on hand to provide you with all necessary drinkage and snackage for purchase.

Some subjects we might visit include Rock Song Lyrics, Inventors and their Inventions, March Sadness, Game Show Hosts, and Things Found in Your Navel.

Prizes to the winner, so valuable you will need extra security.

Tighty-whities to the loser.

We ask that you limit the size of your team to no more than 100 players; it’s only fair. Call the theatre to reserve your table.

Our Hours

Our normal weekly office hours are Tuesdays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. We will remain closed on Sundays and Mondays, and our box office will open ninety minutes prior to our concerts and other live events, and one hour prior to our movies, unless otherwise noted.

FRIDAY FILMS

Friday Films are finally back, well at least they are on Friday, April 10.

The late great Peter Sellers and George C. Scott star in the 1964 classic political satire hit, Stanley Kubrick’s, Dr. Strangelove. Who knew when we picked this dark comedy nearly a year ago, that world events would take shape the way they have? Compare for yourself; showtime is 7:00, just $7.00 a ticket, $12.00 for the entire family, and Murphy members as always get in free! This film is rated, PG.

...singing words of wisdom...

Let it Be...

Only the best Beatles song, EVER!

Celebrate the Beatles’ music with us Saturday night, April 11, at 7:30 with Yesterday and Today, The Interactive Beatles Experience.

Patrons fill out a song request sheet with their memory surrounding their favorite Beatles’ song, then the band takes these suggestions, pulls them just before the concert, and BOOM, there is your show; your songs, your memories. What a concept!

Get your tickets here.

Sunday, April 19, the Knights of Columbus, Councils 2423 of Fayetteville and 3369 of Wilmington are presenting the movie, Triumph of the Heart, The passion of St. Maximilian Kolbe, free to the public.

Donations are accepted.

Showtime is 2:00. All are invited and doors will open at 1:00. For more information, contact garybronson@yahoo.com

or harrymolitor@gmail.com

from Knights of Columbus.

"I hear that train a comin’..."

Which is wonderful considering how much wax I have in my ears. That incredible country music group known as Johnny Folsom 4 is comin’ back to the Murphy and promises to be another standout performance for anyone and everyone who loves, The Man in Black, or just good old soulful country music the way it used to be. All your favorite Johnny Cash songs will be sung with this band we love so much that we’ve brought them back for a third year in a row, which is very rare for us, especially since our checks to them usually don’t clear after their first appearance. Great seats remain for this Saturday night, April 25 concert at 7:30. Get your tickets here.

Ryanhood & Chickenwire Empire

are teaming up for one of the most memorable concerts of the year here at The Murphy Theatre, on Saturday, May 2 at 7:30. Please, I’m begging you, check out some of their music (I recommend starting with Ryanhood’s ‘Sickbed Symphony’) and then make your reservations for a night you’ll truly be thanking me for and getting me gifts. Get your tickets here.

RYANHOOD

CHICKENWIRE EMPIRE

This just in... Thursday, May 7, Clinton County Community Band will hold a concert at 7:00 PM.

The concert is titled,

For A Song and A Story - A Musical Tribute to Paul Shivers. The band is requesting former students of Paul's

or instructors from his store to submit a story (about a paragraph) to be used in the tribute.

Send stories to band director, Eric Stanton at

cccbandnotes@gmail.com.

WANNA SEND A MSG?

Do you have a message you’d like to send out to a loved one, in bright lights? Maybe a poem like, “Dianne, best of luck with your second Tummy Tuck!” or a sweet sentiment like, “Steve, you are loved...by someone, we’re guessing.” or something simpler like, “Lee, you are a good egg.” For a contribution of $50.00 you can provide us with a message (text only, no pics) that will run for 45 minutes at a designated time of your choosing, between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm, with a few exceptions on certain days where we have an earlier start time than our normal evening shows. It must be a positive message, and we reserve the right to refuse anything we deem inappropriate, such as “Reggie wants a Wedgy.” If you’re interested, call the office.

and their ticket links should direct you

to our website.

Still, we advise using caution;; it's always safest to go directly to our site.

These sites sell overpriced tickets and we will not be able to accommodate your purchasing error, because in some instances your tickets will be fake and these overpriced seats simply don’t exist. This is happening to venues all over the country. You must physically type in www.themurphytheatre.org, to get to our site and proceed with your online ticket purchases. If you just type in, “The Murphy Theatre”, and/or the name of the concert you want to attend, WE PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL BE DIRECTED

TO THE WRONG SITE!
