Dear Fairview Families,
The pandemic is taking Ohio by storm but Cuyahoga County has avoided moving to the “watch” list this week. Given this information, the district will continue in hybrid mode next week. The following week (Nov. 23-27) is parent-teacher conferences (which will be nearly all through phone calls, Google Meet, or Zoom) and the Thanksgiving holiday. We will then begin remote teaching and learning on Monday, November 30th and will continue through the end of Winter Break. We will monitor the numbers the last week of December and make a decision how to proceed forward from there.
I’m very concerned about continuing sports when the spread is so high. However, OHSAA has provided plans for continuing forward and is surveying superintendents, principals, and athletic directors regarding the winter season. So, until the OHSAA states otherwise, we will continue with the scheduled winter athletic season as long as we have athletes who are healthy and opposing teams to play. We will follow the strict safety measures outlined by OHSAA and the ODH, and may institute other measures to assure the safety of everyone involved. More to follow.
Please continue to keep yourselves and your families as safe as possible during this current upswing of the virus. We WILL get through this. Thank you for understanding and support.
Be safe, keep smiling, and stay strong!
Dr. Bill Wagner, Superintendent
