Dear Families,
Pickering Manor continues to be dedicated to the health, safety, and welfare of our residents. We promised all of you from the beginning a commitment of honesty and communication.
This letter is to alert you that we learned today that two of our staff members tested positive for COVID-19. We are actively monitoring our residents for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and are working with our local and state health departments.
All of our staff continue to follow public health recommendations to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. These include strict handwashing procedures, including wearing facemasks, face shields, gowns, and gloves when interacting with residents and staff.
As per the Department of Health policy, we must now continue to restrict all visitations, except for End of Life visits. This will also include restricting communal dining and activities. These restrictions will be in place until all tests are negative.
We will continue testing based on the Bucks County Positivity Rate. We have been testing weekly, but anticipate that we will increase that testing to twice weekly. We are hopeful that we will have the test results back to us within 1-2 days. We will continue testing until all results are negative, as per the Department of Health guidelines.
We understand the toll this has taken on all of you and our residents. We will continue to keep you informed and assure you that we will communicate to you the overall results of the testing and the resumption of visits and activities.
