Dear Fairview Families,
Next week, we have Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday and Tuesday, then everyone gets a much needed (and hopefully, safe and contained) Thanksgiving break Wednesday through Friday.
With the recent CCBH “Stay-At-Home Advisory”, ALL K-12 classes (and DAP pre-school) will shift to remote instruction starting Monday, November 30th and will continue through the end of Winter Break. A decision will be made toward the end of December whether to extend or modify the remote instruction plan in January. During this time, all district offices will be closed, but staff will be on duty remotely to continue regular operations. If calling, please leave a message, and a return response will be made as quickly as possible.
The Early Education Center daycare and school-age programs will be closed next week, then will re-open on November 30th.
The OHSAA and Governor’s office have both approved moving ahead with winter sports programs, following tightly regulated protocols to maximize participant safety. However, given yesterday’s CCBH advisory, the district will no longer be permitting spectators at any scrimmages, games or meets. The good news is that we have the ability to live broadcast anything in the HS gymnasium (MS and HS basketball and wrestling) and we will be working with FPCSBN to broadcast swim meets. More information will be shared soon.
Remember: ALL students are eligible for FREE SCHOOL MEALS through the end of the 2020-2021 school year. You do not need to fill out any additional paperwork. Please email Diana Hill at email@example.com to be added to the delivery or pick-up list.
Some families appear to be concerned that accepting these free meals are costing the district money and hurting the district budget. Quite the opposite! The more meals that are provided, the more we can sustain our food service staff at current levels.
Beginning December 1, 2020, meal delivery will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Delivery time is approx. 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Someone must be at the residence to accept the food, it cannot be left at a doorstep. If you prefer to pick up meals, this will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 – 1 p.m. at Fairview High School.
*Note: There will be no delivery or pick-up the week of November 23 or the weeks of December 21 & December 28.
Be safe, keep smiling, and stay strong!
