Denver Students Say "BOO" to Drugs!
Denver students dressed in their Halloween costumes during Red Ribbon Week to say BOO to drugs
The last week of October Denver Elementary students participated in Red Ribbon Week to highlight the importance of making healthy choices. The theme was Be Brave. Be Happy. Be Drug Free!

Each day was a different theme and the kids had fun while they learned. They wrapped up the week by dressing up in their Halloween costumes and saying “Boo” to drugs.

You can learn more about the Red Ribbon Campaign at redribbon.org/about. While you're there check out their Virtual Activities that you can do from home!
Hurricane Healthy Holidays
Ohio Department of Health's Buckeye Guide to Social Distancing measured in footballs, cardinals, hot dogs, ears of corn, and pies. For more information visit coronavirus.ohio.gov
As we enter the holiday season, we encourage you to be vigilant not just at work and school, but also at home and at family gatherings.

The CDC recently published a helpful page on how to assess risk and plan your gatherings to limit the spread of virus during Holiday Celebrations.

The stability of our school schedule is dependent on the health of our students, staff, and community and our ability to maintain appropriate staffing levels.

It will take all of us working together and following safety protocols to keep our community healthy and our schools and businesses open.

WCS Awarded ODE Grant!

Philanthropy Ohio and Ohio Department of Education recently selected WCS for a grant from The Collaborative Fund for Educating Remotely and Transforming Schools. We are one of only 28 Districts to receive a grant!

Our WCS Grant will be used to purchase a Nearpod District License, providing a more enhanced and robust tool for our teachers to interact and engage with students learning in-person and remotely. Thank you to our District’s Technology Return to School Task Force for researching and planning ways to enhance both in-person and remote instruction/learning for our staff and students.

COVID-19 Dashboard and Building Notifications
Thank you, WCS families! You have been vigilant about contacting our schools when your child or family has had a COVID-19 diagnosis in the household or has been quarantined due to exposure. Your quick action and compliance with contact tracing is key to keeping our schools open and keeping our students and staff safe and healthy.

Parents and community members can view our District’s weekly dashboard, as well as our Building Notifications on the District website wilmingtoncityschools.com. Just click the links in the yellow alert banner at the top of the page at wilmingtoncityschools.com

Parents also receive direct notifications (email or Class Dojo) if there is a positive case in their child’s classroom. If their child was in close contact with a positive case they will also receive a call from the school and/or health department right away. We encourage parents to work with the school and the Clinton County Health Department if they are called for contact tracing.
