Cross Country State: The Girls Place 13th – Paul Stamm Earns All-State
It was cold but mostly sunny last Saturday at the world class Lavern Gibson Cross Country course in Terre Haute where 48 teams and 440 runners converged to compete for the state championship. Nine of those runners were from CRHS!

Juniors Paul and Will Stamm started off the afternoon in the boys race at 1:00 pm.  Paul became the first male runner from Cardinal Ritter to earn All-State honors with a podium finish of 16th. He ran a smart race staying with the lead pack and as it leaned out maintained his position until the end.

The dream continued as the girls demonstrated that they deserved to be there placing 13th. Seniors Mariah Wehrle, IU bound, placed 23rd and Mary Anna, a West Point recruit, placed 26th. The entire team made us so proud!

IN AATSP Spanish Award
This past Saturday, Seniors Peter Sperry, Karla Suazo, and Mariah Wehrle were awarded AATSP Indiana’s Outstanding Students of Spanish recognition. Congratulations!
Student-Athletes of the Month
Parker Mead, senior inside linebacker, is the second leading tackler on the team. He was voted by his teammates as captain of the week. He starts on the kick off team, kick off return, long snapper for the punt team, and is on the punt return team as well as the field goal unit. Mead is a very go-get-it kind of athlete!

The Girls Cross Country team made their first appearance in the State Cross Country finals in school history! The team placed 13th in the state meet out of 24 qualifying teams.
Congratulations Mariah Wehrle, Mary Anna Wehrle, Jenna Gruber, Hannah Wells, Sarah Jacob, Annie Waters, Jessica Bontempo, Lauryn Harcus, and Maria Egenolf!
