Dear Friend of CCSD93,
Thank You to CCSD93 Board Members!
November 15 is School Board Members Day, a time set aside throughout the State of Illinois to honor School Board members for all they do for public education.

CCSD93 is extremely fortunate to have seven dedicated individuals who devote literally hundreds of hours of their own time each year to governing CCSD93, shaping it in the best interests of our students.

Our Board members, like all others throughout Illinois, are are elected to their position and are not compensated for their time. Like you, they have families and are parents and spouses.
They are constantly challenged with balancing work and family commitments, while always placing the interests and needs of CCSD93 students and staff members first and foremost. Their dedication to governing CCSD93 makes our district a better place for teaching and learning. Please join me in showing appreciation for our Board of Education members! We were able to honor them last night at the Board of Education meeting; here they are with the Sportsmanship Award winners from Jay Stream and Stratford.

Parents Invited to Get Involved with American Education Week Next Week!
American Education Week is next week, and it's a celebration of public education in America. All CCSD93 schools are hosting a number of special events where parents are invited to get involved. I hope you're able to take part in a special event at your child's school next week! For your child's school's schedule, watch for a communication from your child's teacher or principal, or visit your child's school's webpage.

Carol Stream & Roy DeShane Schools
Salute Our Veterans
Today, Carol Stream School hosted its Veterans Day Assembly while Roy DeShane hosted its Citizenship Assembly. Both schools honored local veterans for their service and sand patriotic songs, and both were terrific celebrations that helped students to further understand the sacrifices that our veterans have made for all of us. As we look forward to Veterans Day on Sunday, we salute our veterans.

Check out a song from Roy DeShane students here!

Do You Have Ties with Roy DeShane School (Now Jay Stream Middle School) From 1968?
Were you at Roy DeShane (now Jay Stream Middle School) when it opened in 1968? If so, we want to hear from you!
Share Your Thoughts with Glenbard District 87!
Glenbard District 87 is hosting an online community conversation as part of its process to develop a Profile of a Graduate, a collection of capabilities or qualities that characterize Glenbard graduates. Glenbard's Profile of a Graduate will guide the school district's work to prepare students for a bright future in a changing world.

Glenbard is using Thoughtexchange, an online tool, to capture the thoughts of community members, parents, students and staff regarding what Glenbard graduates should know and be able to do when they graduate. As parents of future Glenbard students, I ask that you please share your opinion. It's not a long process. To share your opinion, visit Glenbard's Thoughtexchange here by November 16!
