Dear First Universalist Families,

I know there are lots of emails this week and weeks - as we approach the launch of our new church year there is plenty to be in touch and excited about. Today I'm reaching out because we need 11 more adults to volunteer with Religious Education on Sunday mornings!

First, I want to celebrate our dedicated and fabulous volunteers who have already committed their time and energy for the coming year. We have over 70 (!!!) adults who will be volunteering regularly in teams ranging from Sunday morning Religious Education to Wednesday youth groups to Saturday Sprouts and beyond. That is AMAZING, and truly unheard of in congregations like ours across the country. We should be deeply proud of the way that our community is showing up for our young folks and families through volunteering.

That said, we still need 11 additional adult volunteers to make our Sunday morning Religious Education program happen. Without enough volunteers, we may need to cut class sections or reduce our offerings, because our priority is keeping our kids safe and healthy at church. Having more volunteers also reduces the load on each individual volunteer, because the responsibilities can be shared more broadly.

Here are our remaining volunteer needs on Sunday mornings at our 9 a.m. & 11 a.m. services (bolded are our most urgent needs):

• Nursery/Toddler room: 1 volunteer needed at 11 a.m.
• Preschool/PreK room: 2 volunteers needed at 9 a.m. & 1 needed at 11 a.m.
• Kindergarten-1st grade: 3 volunteers needed at 9 a.m.** (biggest need)
• 2nd-3rd grade: 2 volunteers needed at 9 a.m. & 1 needed at 11 a.m.
• 4th-5th grade: 1 volunteer needed at 9 a.m.

Right now, we need folks like you to generously consider your capacity to help out our amazing programming and support our young folks. If you are able to volunteer once or twice a month, please let me know as soon as possible - we need to fill these volunteer slots within the next week.
