Hello NSSD112 Community,

Below are highlights from the Reorganization Meeting of the North Shore School District 112 Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
Board Community Celebration
Prior to the start of last night’s Board Reorganization meeting, members of the Board, administration, and the community celebrated and thanked outgoing board member Ms. Yumi Ross and outgoing board president Mr. Eric Ephraim for their years of commendable & distinguished service to District 112.

During the reception, Dr. Lubelfeld spoke about the legacy of the two members and the accomplishments of the Boards they served on.
Recognition of Retiring Board Members
After the meeting got underway way board members gave statements in honor and appreciation of the departing members. This was followed by statements from Ms. Ross and President Ephraim thanking their fellow board members and, with them, sharing their thoughts on the overall direction of the district. At that time Ms. Ross and President Ephraim officially departed the District 112 Board of Education.

Oath of Office for New and Returning Board Members
Later in the meeting, the Board of Education accepted the results of the April 2nd Elections in which returning board member Adam Kornblatt as well as new board members Ms. Melissa Itkin and Ms. Lisa Hirsh were officially elected to serve four-year terms. Mr. Kornblatt, Mrs. Hirsh, and Mrs. Itkin took the official District 112 oath of office. 

Election of Officers
The newly reorganized NSSD112 Board of Education elected Mr. Bennett Lasko as its President, Mr. Alexander Brunk as Vice President, and Mr. Art Kessler, as its Secretary.


Upcoming Meetings
The Board’s Finance Committee will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. The next Regular Business Board of Education Meeting will be on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. In addition, the Superintendent’s Citizens Advisory Committee for Construction will next meet from 5pm-6pm on May 21, 2019. The Board of Education’s Facilities Committee will meet from 6pm-7pm on May 21; there will also be a regular Board meeting on May 21st. Click to view the approved 2019-2020 board meeting calendar.
