The Career Pathways Training (CPT) program was created to help healthcare workers advance their careers. Through this program, home care workers gain access to education, career advancement opportunities and higher-paying roles—all at no cost to them or their employers.
The CPT Program is offered by the New York State Workforce Investment Organization, hosted by the Training and Employment Funds (TEF), in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Serving participants from New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley, the program is designed to train and place workers into stable healthcare jobs. The CPT program provides:
-
Access to education – The CPT program covers the full cost of training and certification programs plus a book stipend, eliminating financial obstacles that might prevent home care workers from advancing their education.
-
Increased job security – Workers gain recognized qualifications, making them more competitive and ensuring greater stability in the job market.
-
Career growth and economic mobility – By equipping workers with advanced skills and credentials, the program helps them transition into higher-paying roles, securing long-term financial stability.
The CPT program is an investment in the future of home care workers, giving them the tools they need to grow their careers. It is a unique opportunity to have full tuition at any college in New York State fully paid for in occupations such as nursing and social work.
