Benefit Fund Offers More Appointments to Help Members Enroll in Health Coverage

To help ensure that no Home Care member experiences an interruption in their healthcare coverage, the Home Care Benefit Fund is providing eligible members additional opportunities to enroll in a New York State Essential Plan. Members will be eligible for health coverage retroactive to May 1 as long as they enroll before May 31. Appointments are available most days of the week and some Saturdays at multiple Benefit Fund offices. Benefit Fund Outreach Coordinators, along with representatives from BeneStream and Healthfirst, will be on hand to answer questions and help members enroll. To schedule an appointment, members may contact a Benefit Fund Member Services representative at (646) 473-9200 or MemberServices@1199Funds.org, or a Benefit Fund Outreach Coordinator at (646) 473-6930 or OutreachAssistance@1199Funds.org. The Benefit Fund also has conducted onsite enrollment events at some home care agencies. If you are interested in hosting an enrollment event at your agency, email OutreachAssistance@1199Funds.org or call the Employer Services Unit at (646) 473-6413. If your eligible employees have not yet enrolled, please encourage them to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

Training and Employment Funds Host Tuition Assistance and Career Information Sessions

To support 1199SEIU members applying for tuition assistance for the first time, the Training and Employment Funds provide mandatory tuition assistance information sessions, offered online via Zoom. Topics covered include eligibility requirements, the application process, online resources and more. Career-planning information sessions, held twice monthly in person at various TEF offices, include a Self-Directed Search assessment that matches members’ interests and skills with different healthcare professions, in addition to career counseling. Members may visit MyTEF to register for upcoming sessions, listed below, and call (844) 833-1199 for more information.
