New Benefit Funds Online Resource to Further Support Members’ Health Journeys

The Benefit Funds have introduced “The Choice Is Yours,” an all-in-one resource that will allow 1199SEIU members to explore virtual and in-person programs that address hypertension, obesity/weight management, prediabetes and/or Type 2 diabetes. Members seeking support with these health conditions will be able to browse the Benefit Funds’ partnership programs that currently include Ochsner Digital Medicine, FlyteHealth, Virta® and WeightWatchers®. Some of the features these programs provide include personalized care plans, health coaching, and medical and community support. Members visiting the site will be able to access information about eligibility criteria, member discounts and the enrollment process. The site will continue to grow, with additional partnerships designed to support members living with these conditions and improve their health outcomes. The Benefit Funds will soon begin communicating with members about the site through multiple channels, including all social media platforms. For more information, members may visit “The Choice Is Yours.”

Career Pathways Training Program’s First Graduates Step into Their Future

The Training and Employment Funds’ Career Pathways Training (CPT) Program celebrates its graduates who are ready to take the next step in their healthcare careers. Danielle Johnson, who recently graduated from the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Program at the Vocational Education & Extension Board, is among more than 500 LPNs who will need employment to fulfill the program’s service commitment requirement. “If people knew about this program, there would be more nurses,” Danielle said. “When you graduate, you feel so proud of yourself, knowing that you can give the best care to your patients.”

To hire a CPT graduate, a healthcare employer must complete a provider attestation form, which verifies that they are a provider serving a Medicaid or uninsured patient population of at least 30 percent or are contracted through one of New York State’s approved Social Care Networks, although they are not obligated to hire. If you have full-time job vacancies for LPNs, please submit the job posting here. For more information, visit the CPT Program website.
