The Home Care Benefit Fund has launched its annual campaign encouraging 1199SEIU members to get vaccinated against seasonal influenza to protect themselves, their families and their clients from the virus. The Benefit Fund is reaching out to members through emails and social media channels. Flu shots are being offered in October at the Benefit Fund’s Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Hicksville sites. Members may make an appointment for a flu shot by visiting the Wellness Program scheduler, which is available in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Russian, or by calling (646) 473-8960, option 2. In addition, as new variants of the COVID-19 virus circulate, the Benefit Fund is encouraging members to get their COVID-19 booster. As a reminder, members enrolled in health coverage through the Benefit Fund can receive the vaccinations from their participating provider or pharmacy with no out-of-pocket costs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that it is safe to receive both vaccines at the same time. |
