“Summer is here” according to Sam! Join us at Serendipity for a fun filled summer including our “Red and Lights” quilt challenge, 11 th anniversary celebration, arrival of Holiday fabrics and projects, a new block of the month (beginning in June as soon as the fabric arrives), a June QOV day, and many new classes on the schedule. We are looking forward to seeing all of our “summer people” again. We will be continuing our free Sit and Sew days , monthly through the summer. As part of our 11th Anniversary celebration and the Red and Lights Quilt challenge, we invite you to participate in a group photo session

Shop Display
In addition, if you'd like your quilt displayed in the shop during the 11th anniversary celebration, we will need you to drop it off at the shop no later than 4PM on Saturday June 8th. This will give us time to get them hung up for the Anniversary Party 6/14 and 6/15. The quilts will be taken down at the end day on Monday 6/17 and you can pick them up any time.

Block of the Month
"A Poinsettia Winter"

"A Poinsettia Winter" Block of the Month is designed by In the Beginning Fabrics. 

This BOM will begin in June 2019 (limited availability*) and run for 5 months at a cost of $35.00 per month. Kits will include patterns and all fabrics needed to complete the top and binding as called for by pattern. The finished quilt is approximately 74" x 74" quilt.

*Note: BOM participants will pay for the 1st and last months fee at initial sign up.

  During the Quilts of Valor Day we encourage you to bring your own sewing machine to use, if possible. We will have sewing machines set up for those who do not have a sewing machine as well as pre-cut fabric available for anyone who wants to come and make a quilt block or stay and make several that will go into a QOV quilt. 
No sewing experience needed!
Volunteers always needed for Quilting, Binding and Pillow Cases.

FREE - Sit and sew away from home! Bring your sewing machine and your sewing/cutting supplies/tools, your WIP (work in progress), hand projects, or start a new project! A staff member will be present to offer help with your projects. Note: This is not an instructional class. It is simply a sit and sew day - meeting new and old friends while working on your projects! Call the shop to register. Limited to 10 people so pre-register soon!

Learn the basics, including choosing your fabrics, rotary cutting, machine piecing and quilting. Go home with mostly finished projects after each class. Class uses Pat Sloan's "I Can't Believe I'm Quilting" book.

Overcome the fear of cutting and piecing ovals! In this class, Barbara will demonstrate how to use the new Creative Grids- Ovals All Ways ruler designed by Karla Alexander. The Ovals All Ways Ruler is designed to cut quarter, half and full oval shapes in a variety of sizes. Barbara will guide you in creating a stunning Blue Onion quilt!

Fear no more! Join Lenny in this interactive class as she shares tips that you can use to see fabrics in a new light. You will learn about color choices, printed designs and how to make them work to your advantage when choosing fabrics for your next project.

Doubly Charmed contains two patterns in one!! You will use the set of 5 inch squares for both quilts. You can use the same background and border colors for both or change it up. Either way you choose, you get double the quilts! This is a 2-part class. Use leftovers from the first quilt to make the second quilt.

This is a fun, updated version of an old favorite, Dresden plate quilt. Although it appears to have curved piecing there is NO curved piecing in this block. Strip piecing and a bit of applique (either hand or fusible machine) are featured. Beautiful in any color scheme or theme, pick up a few Fat Quarters and join this enjoyable class.

Join Diane L in another Bag Lady class - for the "Pack It Up" pattern by Seams Like a Dream Quilt Designs. This bag incorporates using Cork and the "Mini Braid Template" by Kate Colleran. The pattern shows how to make this fun zippered bag in 4 sizes (small, medium, large or extra large). Diane will go over making either a Large or Extra Large bag in this class. Note: Some pre-cutting of fabric is required prior to class

Learn a great technique to take your free motion quilting to the next level by adding ruler work. Learn how to use long arm rulers... whether on a long arm machine or a domestic machine (requires free motion ruler foot.) Learn the steps to get perfect designs and precision that comes with using rulers and then learn different techniques to make those designs stand out!

Sea Glass is a great example of the versatility of the Diamond Rect unit. Choose a focus print for the border and put together some coordinating fabrics plus a light and a dark and you are ready to start this beauty. (Uses the Diamond Rect tool from Studio 180 Design)
