Juniors and Families, November 6th, 2023

We have two imporant events coming up for Juniors:

1. Fort Lewis College information session and campus tour Friday, Nov 10th

We are extremely fortunate that we have an amazing small liberal arts college right across the street from our school! All juniors will participate in a campus tour and information session at FLC. This is an amazing opportunity to build a baseline of knowledge about colleges in general so that students can begin to determine what they like and don't like - and is a great foundation for our "What am I looking for in a College?" work that we will be doing soon. Half of the juniors will tour while the other half works with Elliot on informational interview prep. This is required for all juniors, and absences will count as an absence from their core classes.

In addition to our FLC tour, I strongly encourage you to begin exploring colleges on your own - you can do this from the comfort of your own screen! Check out The College Tour streaming series as well as the upcoming NACAC Virtual college fair.

2.Southern Ute Career Fair next Tuesday, Nov. 14th

All Juniors will travel by bus to the Sky Ute events center in Ignacio for the Southern Ute Career Fair next Tuesday. This is an event specifically designed for students. The juniors will work on completing their 2 required informational interviews, which are an important part of LINK preparation and one of the requirements for earning credit for LINK this semester. This is required for all juniors, and absences will count as an absence from their core classes.
