Dear Families and Stakeholders,

Thanks to all of you who attended the stakeholder meeting last night. It was very productive and there were some great suggestions that came out of the meeting that we are integrating into our current COVID practices.

As mentioned last night, we continue routine surveillance testing and have, unfortunately, seen an uptick in breakthrough positive cases over the past couple of weeks consistent with the numbers we are seeing across Massachusetts.  As a result, we are asking families to be extremely cautious with visitation and continue to inform us if there are known exposures and postpone visits if you or a member of the household has recently had an exposure.

Last night, we mentioned that the adult day programs would be closed the week between Christmas and New Year’s. We have modified that to be closed from Monday, December 20 through Friday, December 31st with an anticipated reopening of the programs on January 3rd

At this point, the day school in Franklin will remain open, but the program will continue to operate at a limited capacity.

Effective this weekend until a time comes that the COVID rates within the commonwealth stabilize, we will be implementing the following protocols for offsite overnight visits:

-         Prior to or upon return to the residence students or adult clients will receive a rapid COVID Test.
-         If the test is positive, the return to the residence will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the administrative / clinical on-call teams. There may be instances where families are asked to keep their loved one(s) home for an isolation period.
-         We will ask parents and guardians to consent to additional rapid-testing five days after return to the residence. If someone tests positive, quarantine / isolation protocols will be followed.

Thank you for your patience,
John Randall
