Message from the President
Dear Parents,
As a school community, we celebrate the birth of our Savior and listen to God’s message as He speaks to us in the image of the Holy Family.

As a family here at Cardinal Ritter, we have demonstrated the importance of caring for each other with our school theme “Little Acts of Kindness.” Through these acts, our students have given witness to how Catholic Social Teachings are embedded in our culture. Our family has shown care for God’s creation by recycling and feeding the hungry. Our students have delivered over 300 backpacks with food for those families of our school community who, without our gifts, might not be able to celebrate the holiday. We are so grateful to the Indianapolis Colts for donating the bags. Also, at this special time of year, our students gathered together to proclaim that life is sacred by praying the rosary outside the Planned Parenthood building.

We are one human family, whatever our nationality, racial, ethnic, economic and ideological differences. We are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, wherever they may be.

Loving our neighbor has global dimension in a shrinking world. In Solidarity, a Catholic Social Teaching, we are called to pursue justice and peace.

At this time of the year, join with us in prayer for those in need and in gratitude for what we have been given.

God bless you and thank you all for an amazing first semester.

Merry Christmas,
Mrs. Hoy

Cardinal Ritter, with the support of the Indiana Blood Center, is having a blood drive on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Students who are 17 years old or older can sign up to give blood. Students who are 16 years old, may still donate, but will need to have their parent sign a consent form. Parents, teachers, and staff are also invited to participate. Please consider donating; local hospitals depend on the generosity of donors to provide this life-saving treatment to people in need.
Sign-up sheets and parental consent forms are available in the school clinic. Please note, all donors must present a photo ID and weigh at least 110 pounds. Student athletes may not donate if they have competition that day and should check with their coach about practice days. You may safely donate whole blood every 56 days. You may sign up by emailing the nurse, come to the clinic, or during lunch the week of January 7th. The deadline for sign-up is 1/14/19 at school dismissal. Students who participate will be able to count this as 1 service hour for the sick. If you have additional questions, please contact Pam Feltz RN school nurse.
