Dear Families and Stakeholders,
As we are coming into the Christmas weekend, we wish you and your families the happiest and safest of holidays. Please know that we will support your visitation with loved ones through this season and are asking that you take all available safety precautions to help us prevent the spread of COVID 19.
The following protocols will be implemented to facilitate visits:
- You will be asked to attest to visitation plans with no contact with anyone who has recent known exposures to anyone who is positive for COVID 19.
- Your loved one will be tested upon return from overnight visits using BinaxNOW Rapid tests. They will also be tested approximately five days later.
o If a test returns a positive result upon return to the residence, case-by-case decisions will be made as to isolation / quarantine processes.
As many of you heard at last week’s stakeholder meeting, many families delayed visits over Thanksgiving due to known household exposures. These decisions are heartbreaking, but ultimately are made to protect your loved ones, their housemates, and their staff.
We continue with routine surveillance and as-needed testing. Consistent with the current positivity numbers across Massachusetts, we are continuing to see an increase in breakthrough positive cases.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this next phase of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Thank you,
