End-of-year giving
A message from Chip Zint, Stewardship Chair

As the year-end nears, I want to again take the opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support and wish you all a happy new year. The end of the year represents a great opportunity to revisit giving one last time and explore the many options available to you all. If you wish to make a year-end gift to CFUMC in 2021, there's still time! Year-end gifts must be received by the church (or postmarked) by midnight Friday, December 31, in order to be counted in 2021.
Consider these ways to support to CFUMC with your giving:
Cash gifts may be made online, in person, or by mail (4147 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Chamblee, GA 30341).
You may also choose to give using appreciated assets, like stocks or bonds. The tax code is very generous toward this form of giving. Giving the asset directly to the church allows the church to sell the asset, thereby eliminating potential capital gains taxes to the donor. This also results in a larger gift to the church.
Make a Planned Gift
Whether cash, assets, or even a gift to the endowment, your giving can make a difference for years to come.
Thank you again for all of the ways you continuously support CFUMC. As a reminder, if you still have not gotten your 2022 pledge in, you can do so HERE.
Combined Service
Jan. 2, 10am

We will have a combined 10am service this Sunday. There will be no 9 or 11am regular service times. Make plans to join us as we worship together!
Jesus Unmasked
In-person and Online

You are invited to a mid-week study that will start back up January 5th, led by
Brad Sherrill which will be meeting in a hybrid in-person/virtual format. Jesus
Unmasked is a class that engages participants in the words of Jesus and asks
us to consider how these words may carry direction and meaning for us today.

Drop In Baby Shower for Emma Hall Ponce
Sunday, 2-4pm

There will be a baby boy shower for Emma & Daniel before they go back home to Costa Rica. There will be light refreshments and fellowship. Debbie says they need any type of baby things. Gift cards will be fine, too, but would be used by Emma here to get things & then she and Daniel can carry them home with them. Debbie & George will be traveling down when the baby is born in March so will also be able to carry things down then. If you have any questions, please contact Lee Turner 404-275-3070. If anyone would like to help provide cookies, please let Lee know. Thank you.
A Note of Thanks

We wanted to send a short note to say we are grateful – and a bit overwhelmed -- for the well wishes and expressions of love we have received as we have made our move to Panama City. Although we are excited about this next phase of our lives, we do also honestly feel some loss as we leave Chamblee FUMC. This is where we met, where we got married, and is the place that has been a central part of our lives in terms of worship, service, and fellowship for more than thirty years. Even though we will join another congregation in our new home, in our hearts we will always be members of Chamblee First United Methodist. We know that the future holds great things for this church, and we will continue to be connected to you as we all move forward.

Ken and Belinda Owenby
Thank you for your continued giving and generous hearts! Your contribution will be credited towards 2021 if it is postmarked by Dec. 31.
