Real World Learning. Putting STEAM to Work.

β€œMy high school experience taught me to navigate project deadlines, and helped strengthen my management skills, including managing long-term projects. Most school work both in high school and college focuses on short-term assignments. I knew how to focus on high quality and consistency during the design, code, and build process, even with a long feedback loop and rounds of testing to get from start to finish.”

-PCHS Graduate Grant Gabrielson

PCHS graduate Grant Gabrielson's path to Apple is a testament to the early interests he pursued beginning in the ninth grade. Through Robotics and PCCAPS, Grant carved a clear path to his future in engineering leading to a dream career in Silicon Valley.

πŸ† PCSD's Mr. Trip Marshall is Aerospace/STEM Teacher of the Year ⭐️

β€Š
β€Š

In a recent classroom surprise, Dr. Scott Nowlin from the Air and Space Forces Association honored PCHS's Mr. Trip Marshall with the prestigious Chapter Aerospace/STEM Teacher of the Year Award. Selected as one of only two recipients in Utah, Mr. Marshall's exceptional contributions to STEM education were celebrated.

β€œI hope you appreciate the fact that you have a very incredibly qualified and experienced person in front of the classroom. That's not always true. But in this case, you've got it right here in terms of all his background, with aviation, and with Engineering and Applied Physics.” -Dr. Scott Nowlin

πŸ€– Hour of Code at EHMS πŸ€–

β€Š
β€Š

Students put Real World Learning to the test during the 'Hour of Code' at Ecker Hill Middle School with the help of Computer Science Integration Coach Summer Marshall.

Working in pairs during this hands-on session, 6th graders created robots with the ability to sense, think, and act. And, they were quick to grasp basic design, coding, and building concepts! Throughout the Hour of Code, all 6th graders experience programming block robots, and will have the background needed to apply to other projects.
