Dear Families,
Pickering Manor continues to be dedicated to the health, safety, and welfare of our residents. We promised all of you from the beginning a commitment of honesty and communication.
This letter is to alert you that we learned today that one of our staff members tested positive for COVID-19. We are actively monitoring our residents for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and are working with our local and state health departments. We will continue to keep you updated should we have more cases.
All of our staff continue to follow public health recommendations to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. These include strict handwashing procedures, including wearing facemasks, face shields, gowns, and gloves when interacting with residents and staff.
As per the Department of Health policy, this is considered an ‘Outbreak’. We must now restrict all visitations, except for End of Life visits. This will also include restricting communal dining and activities. These restrictions will be in place for 14 days or until all tests are negative.
We will continue testing based on the Bucks County Positivity Rate. The Rate is now at 15.3% and we are testing twice weekly.
We will continue to keep you informed and assure you that we will communicate to you the overall results of the testing and the resumption of visits and activities.
In the meanwhile, should you have any questions, please contact either of us at any time.
Thanking you for your patience and understanding,
Michelle Terry Donna
