Head's Note
According to the German philosopher Friedrich   Nietzsche, “He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” At Crossroads, we try to foster many “whys” both to learn rich content (Core Knowledge) and then to use knowledge in the pursuit of important life goals (Core Virtues). Through these curricula, teachers help our students develop intrinsic motivation to “act honorably and contribute actively to intellectual, cultural, and civic life.” Living this part of our mission is one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching at our school. For when we are able to light this particular fuse, I believe our students will help make the world a better place.

Snack Monday Thank You
Thank you to the fifth grade parents for the delicious feast today! So delicious and so much appreciated.
Basket Sale Opens Today
Sixth graders have organized a basket sale in the Faculty Lounge that benefits the Zienzele Foundation . While our community focuses on the Core Virtues of generosity and service this month, we encourage one another to lend a helping hand.

Ginger Generosity
Last week, third graders participated in the Gingerbread Festival by creating a house to be auctioned off to support the Family Place in Norwich, Vermont. The "Raiders and Traders" theme coincides nicely with their current history Viking unit. This is the fifth year that the third grade class has participated, and they won third place!

Centerpiece Gifts
Last Friday morning, the second and fourth grade classes worked together during learning partnerships to create festive floral arrangements for Hanover Terrace. These centerpieces will be displayed throughout the holiday season and serve to remind seniors that children think about them often.

What a supportive community we have at Crossroads! BRAVO! Lets keep going!
January 1, 2020 is just around the corner and we need your help to meet our goal of 100% participation in 100 days. Participation by our entire community speaks volumes, generates enthusiasm, encourages others to give generously, and sets an example of giving back for our students. EVERY GIFT MATTERS!
