12 Guiding Principles for the Next Generation
If you've followed us or the Harbor Revitalization Plan for any stretch of time, no doubt you've heard about the 12 Guiding Principles, including our recent newsletter here . Created in 1998 by a community task force, this set of priorities for harbor redevelopment have remained a formative and guiding document ever since. They have stood steadfast through successive County administrations, harbor management teams and evolving plans for the redevelopment of our harbor. The 12 Guiding Principles connect the original vision for harbor redevelopment to our present efforts to make it happen.

DPBA is proud to have worked with other harbor stakeholders, most vitally our merchant partners, to sustain the 12 Guiding Principles through so many years of challenges at getting this massive project underway. However, they are not ours alone. The 12 Guiding Principles belong to the entire harbor community. So when the time came to revisit and refresh these core priorities, it was the perfect task for the new Dana Point Harbor Advisory Board . And that's exactly what they did. The updated 12 Guiding Principles will now be offered to our elected leaders, County and City staff, and our new developer as a tool to guide the redevelopment of our harbor and to protect our community's vision for its future.

You can find the updated 12 Guiding Principles at the DPHAB website here .

Also, DPBA president James Lenthall chose this as the topic for his April column in the Dana Point Times; you can read it here .

Every dollar we receive is directed to protecting and advancing the Dana Point Harbor boating community. What we do doesn't cost much, but it isn't free. Our community has proven dedicated and supportive over the years; now we offer a gift in return for your generosity.

All donations of $10 or more will receive a bumper sticker. Donations of $50 will receive a choice of a hat or burgee, plus a bumper sticker. Donations of $100 will receive a hat, burgee and two bumper stickers.  If you can spare $10, $25, $50 or $100 to the cause, it goes a long way to keeping us on track, please click here to donate!  Thank you.
