December 2018
Thank you.
Because of the generous donors and volunteers who support us,
SCCF had an exciting year filled with community projects, new scholarships for our students, and grants to nonprofits who make a difference in Steuben County. Although our fiscal year is only halfway done, this time of year is perfect for reflecting on everything that was accomplished over the last 12 months. In case you missed any of these stories, here is our 2018 wrap-up newsletter:
SCCF announced a grant of $36,080 to the Early Childhood Alliance to build capacity and increase quality child care options across the county. ECA plans to provide child development credential training to 20 individuals, organize cohort meetings, and support programs advancing along the Paths to QUALITY system.

Dr. Kelly Trusty led conversations with Steuben County nonprofits to discover their successes and challenges, leading to the development of a two year nonprofit training series tailored to their needs.
John and Rita Crimmins
Ramona Holsinger
SCCF celebrated the legacy of Ramona Holsinger, whose generous gift will leave a lasting impact on Steuben County through the creation of the Ramona Holsinger Physical Education Scholarship.
The Women’s Fund of SCCF awarded a $12,000 grant to support a new Women’s Health STI Clinic through Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, allowing women to seek free, confidential testing and receive necessary treatment.

SCCF gathered the nonprofit organizations who benefit from designated funds, distributing over $300,000 in grants to more than 50 nonprofits at our 2018 Annual Meeting.
SCCF worked with local nonprofits to create a county-wide wish list for #GivingTuesday, encouraging people to support the most pressing needs of nonprofits with their time, talent, and treasure during the holiday season.

We rounded out the year by announcing Steuben County’s 2019 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar, Mason Gaerte! Mason will receive a four-year scholarship to an accredited university in Indiana, along with an annual stipend for books and equipment.
