Dear Gretchen,

It Was A Success! Who knew that 15 years could go by just like that since the DVBA was originally incorporated in June 2010. Its been a decade and a half of lots of ups & downs, including multiple office moves, rejoining NAHB, forming our Professional Women in Building Council (PWB), nearly 500 events and programs and of course lots & lots of legislative advocacy/fee study reviews and continuing to advocate for You, Our Members, that are engaged in providing housing and the dream of homeownership. We couldn't have done it without you, so please enjoy a few pictures of our recent celebration!

We also launched our PWB - Women in Construction scholarship program in conjunction with Girlfriend Factor here in the Coachella Valley. This scholarship will provide assistance to a woman entering into the construction industry, through an accredited school or program. The PWB is committed to this program, raising the first full year's pledge contribution in one evening and now onto year two.  If you are interested in a pledge to this program, please check out the info below or contact the DVBA for more assistance.

Sincerely,

Gretchen Gutierrez

Chief Executive Officer, DVBA

Keep Cool and Save: SoCal Edison's Smart Energy Program

Summer’s soaring temperatures don’t have to mean skyrocketing energy costs. SoCal Edison’s Smart Energy Program automatically nips peak-demand spikes by nudging qualifying smart thermostats up to four degrees—without you lifting a finger (and you can always override it if you get too toasty). Enroll by June 1 to grab a $75 bill credit, earn up to $40 more in seasonal credits, and score a $30 rebate when you recycle your old thermostat.
