Program Update- A Wrap on Sarah Kim's Clinical Internship

Draw Your Breath & Safe Space

"During my internship at CRW’s residential treatment program, I came to better understand the resilience, hope, creativity, and strength that clients in recovery carry, as well as their determination to keep going despite challenges. Leading art therapy groups helped me recognize some of the ways the creative process can support recovery, including emotional regulation, exploration of recovery identity, reconnection with the self, opportunities for play without substances, and community-building through the art community therapy exhibit work. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to conduct my research study on the value of group art therapy as a mindful practice in recovery." - Sarah Kim

A 15 Year Moment

What does 15 years of expanding access to art therapy mean to you?

"15 years means building a permanent bridge to care where improving quality of life is the ultimate goal. Reaching nearly 13,000 individuals isn't just a statistic; it represents the work we’ve done to dismantle stigma and remove barriers to access.

It’s incredibly humbling to see the ripple effect in action knowing so many more than 13,000 people have been impacted by our work, and the increasing demand for services is a clear reminder that there is still much more to be done." - Executive Director, Martha Dorn

National Volunteer Week

The 15th Anniversary Spring Spectacular is coming to life, fueled by the talent and commitment of our volunteers. Thank you to the dedicated individuals who helped make our gala possible!

We asked them What inspired you to support our 15th Anniversary Gala this year?

"The dedicated team at TATP impresses me everyday. Knowing that our art therapists are on the front lines supporting individuals through trauma during such difficult times is incredibly inspiring.  I hope that through expression, clients are able to find a sense of agency and joy. I’m honored to support a gala that ensures this essential access continues for our community." - Robyn L. Stein

"I volunteered with The Art Therapy Project last year, and I was really moved by everyone’s energy and passion for art therapy. Seeing how much care and dedication the team brings to creating a supportive space for people was incredibly inspiring. It made me want to continue supporting the organization and be part of helping make these services more accessible to those who need them."- Jocelyn Chien
