Conversations you have with your teams before March 25 are crucial to a smooth transition.
Please connect with your employees to clarify:
How Employees Will Request Time Off
- Employees should submit vacation, sick leave, and other absences directly in CHRS.
- If your department also uses another tool for scheduling coverage, communicate how that fits into your process.
- Ensure expectations are documented and shared with your team.
Expectations for Entering Time Worked
- Hourly employees and those eligible for overtime or shift differential should enter their own time worked in CHRS.
- Employees should also enter their own absences in CHRS.
We understand that some departments historically have had timekeepers enter time on behalf of employees. While that functionality exists, we highly encourage employees to enter their own time moving forward, with:
- Timekeepers serving as reviewers/verifiers
- Approvers serving as final approvers
Establishing this practice now will:
- Reduce payroll delays
- Improve accountability
- Ensure timely approvals during the short window between go-live and payroll cut-off
