Recognizing Workers with Disabilities

October is only a few weeks away and this is an important time of year when we celebrate Disability Employment Awareness Month. First celebrated in 1988, Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) is part of a national initiative recognizing the contributions persons with disabilities make to our workforce.

DEAM is an excellent time to celebrate workers with disabilities and learn more about how individuals from this highly talented group continue to enhance Florida’s workforce at all levels.

Join the Celebration!

Our theme for Disability Employment Awareness Month is Fueling Workplace Ambition, demonstrating that people with disabilities are ambitious and have the knowledge and skills to be meaningful additions to the workforce. With your help, we will continue to see disability employment expand in Florida. And what better way to start each workday than with a cup of tea, coffee or any beverage that fuels your ambition.

We invite your organization to help support Disability Employment Awareness Month. We have an informative webinar series that begins on October 4, and we have developed an online toolkit we hope you will use to show your support.

Thank you for your help in spreading the word about the great contributions persons with disabilities make to our workforce!
