On Gratitude and the Important Contributions of the 1794 Society
A record-breaking $10.22 million in gifts—from 8,366 alumni donors—in support of the Alumni Fund made Bowdoin’s 2021–2022 fiscal year an unqualified success. Daniel Olds Named Vice President for Alumni Relations

The Antiquity & America site features a virtual model of Ariadne. In 1805, James Bowdoin III offered Thomas Jefferson the gift of a marble copy of an antique sculpture of Ariadne. Bowdoin’s gift to Jefferson remains on view at Monticello today.

The ancient world of the Mediterranean has loomed large in the American imagination for centuries, profoundly shaping the arts, politics, and national identity of the United States. The exhibition Antiquity & America: The Ancient Mediterranean in the United States considers this enduring impact through the history and collections of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art.
Bowdoin Receives NSF Grant to Expand STEM Education for Maine Preschoolers and Kindergarteners

Bowdoin and the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance have received a National Science Foundation grant to improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics learning for pre-K and kindergarten students and teachers. Assistant Professor of Education Alison Riley Miller is Bowdoin’s principal investigator on the project.
Upward and Onward: Bowdoin Secures More Federal Funding for College Access Program

Bowdoin’s Upward Bound program, which helps low-income youth prepare for college, secures five more years of funding from the US Department of Education. The program assists students at fourteen high schools throughout Maine.

Ben Guite Named Head Coach of Men's Ice Hockey Program

The Department of Athletics announced the hiring of Ben Guite as the new head coach of men's ice hockey. A 2000 graduate of the University of Maine, Guite brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience, becoming the tenth coach in the storied history of men's ice hockey at Bowdoin and just the fourth since 1959. 
Holly Parker Named Schiller Coastal Studies Center Director

Bowdoin has named Holly Parker director of the newly expanded Schiller Coastal Studies Center, the College’s 118-acre research facility thirteen miles from the main campus on Casco Bay.
