Dear Parents,
As we approach winter break with gratitude for successfully completing three full modules of Hybrid Learning, we wanted to provide you with information about PCR testing for CNG students in January, and request your help in providing us feedback using the Hybrid Learning Survey.
PCR Testing
All students will need to be retested for COVID when they return from winter break; and so we will, once again, require all students to get a PCR test through Fundacion Santa Fe. Based on our success with PCR testing before our first Hybrid Learning session, we plan to have families register for a testing date and time. We will be sending out more information to families soon via email and through Skyward as we have in the past
Hybrid Learning Survey
CNG is committed to continuous improvement and uses your feedback to inform decision-making associated with our Hybrid and Distance Learning Programs. As we move into the winter holiday and plan for Hybrid and Distance Learning programs upon our return from break, we would like to get your feedback on how Hybrid learning is going currently and provide you the opportunity to share any successes, comments, or recommendations for our next sessions of Hybrid learning. Please help us by completing this brief survey before Friday, December 18. You can find the survey at this link: https://forms.gle/t8DECdrwQvuagZce7

Thank you to all the families that contributed to the Out-Of-Dress-Code (OODC) campaign these first few months of school. Together we've raised $20.445.674 pesos for the Fundación Hogar Nueva Granada to continue offering quality education to the 470 students that study at Colegio Fundación Nueva Granada. They are on their long break now, but will be "back in the classrooms" in late January thanks to our continued support!
Make sure to bookmark the Parents As Partners HUB on your phone and laptop for easy access. All important, relevant information for CNG parents is linked in the different sections. Take some time to navigate it!

STUDENT YEARBOOK PHOTO/SELFIE
Thank you to all parents and students who have submitted the student selfie for the yearbook.
We are still missing several student selfies.
As a reminder:
Middle School students need to send their selfie to their advisory teacher.
High School students need to send their selfie to their VIP teacher!
Please note that if we do not receive your child´s selfie, we will use the student id photo we have on file for their yearbook photo.

HS High School
From the Principal’s Desk
Last week of school before a well-deserved break for all of us! Thanks to everyone for a great semester of learning. I would like to humbly request that you support your teenager in sending a card or an email to at least one or two of their teachers this week to thank them for all the extra time and energy that it is taking to teach during this difficult time. You would be surprised at how rewarding it is as a teacher to receive a heartfelt message of appreciation from a student. It is the best Christmas gift you can give them, particularly this year!

MS Middle School
It was a great week of all the connections- through giving in the food drive, comparing comfy quarantine outfits during spirit week or at the ping pong table during flex time, our virtual only student meet-ups, middle school students have many opportunities to connect with one another. As a community, we will keep seeking opportunities to connect after the holidays.

Dear ES Families,
As we wind into the break this week we want to let you know, once again, how appreciative we are of our partnership with all of you. One bright side of the past 8 months is that they have brought us closer together, and for that we are very appreciative. Wishing you the very best for calm, peace and joy with family during our much needed break!

Dear Parents,
Recent news is certainly showing that there is light at the end of the tunnel for the pandemic we are currently living in. However, we also know that it will still be several months before we can officially go back to our normal lives. The upcoming break is a good time to not just recharge but also to take a look at what has been working and what hasn’t for your children during the Hybrid Model and make any adjustments that will help them continue to make the most of their learning experiences.
Whether or not your child has diagnosed attention issues, it is likely that you are observing your child have difficulty at times staying attentive and motivated. This podcast features an interview with a psychologist who shares how parents can best focus on their children’s needs to set them up for success. We hope you find it useful:

Counselors
Dear CNG Community,
We’re almost there, and it seems like we already survived what many of us were anxiously anticipating: The process of having life begin to feel a little bit more “normal” again. For those of us who have been on campus during this hybrid model, it has been a learning experience and an adventure for sure, both for students and teachers/staff. I know that it also has been for those who for some reason cannot be on campus, and in some way, we do feel that whether here or not, we’re in this together. I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest respect for all the teachers, staff members, and students that have managed to navigate through this sometimes scary and always crazy hybrid situation. It truly has been unbelievable to see the ability to cope and adapt to unprecedented methodologies and situations. Make sure you celebrate successes, even apparently little ones, because I’m sure that when we look back we’ll realize how huge this all was.
Take care,
Counseling Team
