Treadwell, NY --- July 6 and 7, 2013 marks the 18th year of the Treadwell Stagecoach Run Art Festival and Open Studios. More than 50 artists will be showing their work in their own studios and galleries in Treadwell, Franklin, and environs. The gala event, drawing art lovers and collectors from throughout New York, will take place 10 am - 5 pm Saturday and Sunday along Route 14 and its streets and byways; free maps will be available at Barlow's General Store in Treadwell and at each of the participating sites. The Catskills hamlet of Treadwell has long been a magnet for artists, and Stagecoach Run Art Festival and Open Studios was founded 18 years ago, steadily growing to encompass not only Treadwell studios but those nearby. Visitors and locals will have the opportunity to see art in the artists' studios and talk directly to the artists about why they make art and why they chose the media in which they work.
Collectors and art lovers will follow numbered maps or select specific locations and artists for viewing. Works in egg tempera, oil, watercolor, gold leaf, etchings,

l artists of the 1940s to 2000s. Bright Hill will also feature its own poetry book publications at special festival prices as well as previously-read books at bargain prices.
Visitors may drive to the various studios and galleries outside Treadwell and Franklin or they may chose to park and walk to thestudios in the hamlets. Meals and sandwiches, barbeque, hot dogs, burgers, and other refreshments may be purchased at the renovated Barlow's General Store or at the Treadwell United Methodist church; and Brewery Ommegang will be offering beer samples.
