Enter the Journey
A. Enter the journey. Come to the song. By God you are
chosen, by name you are called to follow the vision, carry the cross. Enter the journey of faith and the family of God.
I. Enter the journey, the way may be long. Enter the journey, yet we are made strong. God’s spirit will guide us, God’s gifts will unfold. Enter the journey of hope!
A. Refrain
II. Enter the journey, though lost and unsure. Enter the journey, God’s peace will be yours. And all who are thirsting be filled with god's grace. Enter the journey of faith!
A. Refrain
III. Enter the journey, though dark is the way. Enter the journey, do not be afraid, for God’s great compassion will give you new sight, Enter the journey of light!
A. Refrain
IV. Enter the journey, the old and the young. Enter the journey, the kingdom is won. By faith now united, as servants we come. Enter the journey of love!
A. Refrain

I confess to almighty God, and to you,
my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts,
and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault;
Therefore, I ask blessed Mary
ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
|
|
Presider: Response:
Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
The absolution by the Presider follows:
May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
and bring us to everlasting life.
Response:
Amen.

First Reading
Gn 9:8-15
God said to Noah and to his sons with him:
“See, I am now establishing my covenant with you
and your descendants after you
and with every living creature that was with you:
all the birds, and the various tame and wild animals
that were with you and came out of the ark.
I will establish my covenant with you,
that never again shall all bodily creatures be destroyed
by the waters of a flood;
there shall not be another flood to devastate the earth.”
God added:
“This is the sign that I am giving for all ages to come,
of the covenant between me and you
and every living creature with you:
I set my bow in the clouds to serve as a sign
of the covenant between me and the earth.
When I bring clouds over the earth,
and the bow appears in the clouds,
I will recall the covenant I have made
between me and you and all living beings,
so that the waters shall never again become a flood
to destroy all mortal beings.”
The Word of the Lord
Response: Thanks be to God
Responsorial Psalm:
Your ways, O Lord, are love and truth to those who keep your covenant.
Second Reading:
1 Pt 3:18-22
Beloved:
Christ suffered for sins once,
the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous,
that he might lead you to God.
Put to death in the flesh,
he was brought to life in the Spirit.
In it he also went to preach to the spirits in prison,
who had once been disobedient
while God patiently waited in the days of Noah
during the building of the ark,
in which a few persons, eight in all,
were saved through water.
This prefigured baptism, which saves you now.
It is not a removal of dirt from the body
but an appeal to God for a clear conscience,
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
who has gone into heaven
and is at the right hand of God,
with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.
The Word of the Lord
Response: Thanks be to God
Verse Before the Gospel
Mt 4:4b
One does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.
Gospel
Mk 1:12-15
The Spirit drove Jesus out into the desert,
and he remained in the desert for forty days,
tempted by Satan.
He was among wild beasts,
and the angels ministered to him.
After John had been arrested,
Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:
“This is the time of fulfillment.
The kingdom of God is at hand.
Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
Response: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ

The Nicene Creed:
I believe in one God the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven. (All bow):
And by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, Catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life
of the world to come.
Amen.

These Alone are Enough
I. Take my heart, O Lord, take my hopes and dreams. Take my mind will all its plans and schemes. Give me nothing more than your love and grace. These alone, O God, are enough for me.
II. Take my thoughts, O Lord, and my memory. Take my tears, my joys, my liberty. Give me nothing more than your love and grace. These alone, O God, are enough for me.
III. I surrender, Lord, all I have and hold. I return to you your gifts untold. Give me nothing more than your love and grace. These alone, O God, are enough for me.
IV. When the darkness falls on my final days, take the very breath that sang your praise. Give me nothing more than your love and grace. These alone, O God, are enough for me.

Lead Me, Lord
I. Blessed are the poor in spirit, longing for their Lord, for God’s coming kingdom shall be theirs. Blessed are the sorrowing, for they shall be consoled, and the meek shall come to rule the world.
A. Lead me, Lord, lead me, Lord, by the light of truth to seek and to find the narrow way. Be my way; be my truth; be my life, my Lord, and lead me, Lord, today.
II. Blessed are the merciful, for mercy shall be theirs, and the pure in heart shall see their God. Blest are they who hunger only holiness can fill, for I say they shall be satisfied.
A. Refrain
III. Blest are they who through their lifetimes sow the seeds of peach, all will call them children of the Lord. Blest are you, though persecuted in your holy life, for in heaven, great is your reward.
A. Refrain
