The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia (ADACBGA)'s Social Justice Committee is pleased to announce our Social Justice Webinar, Friday, September 17, 2021, from 10am-12pm ET.

Topic: Practical Applications of Cultural Diversity Knowledge and Skills

Course Overview: This course will focus on the complexities of interacting with persons from diverse cultures in circumstances where adaptive challenges are being addressed. Utilizing best practice models for engaging in discursive work, this program will provide guidelines for operating at three different levels of cultural competency, applying this knowledge to the examination of several complex scenarios where persons from the non-dominant culture are presented with difficult adaptive challenges. 

Charles Safford, LCSW

Mr. Safford is the President and owner of, Inc., a company that develops and markets web-based and live continuing education training for mental health clinicians on a nationwide basis. Mr. Safford has been providing counseling services since he received his graduate degree from Boston University in 1981 and has been in private practice since 1985. Since moving to Atlanta in 1988, he has also been involved in developing and delivering innovative training programs for numerous audiences. In 2001, he merged his training and therapy skills to create, Inc., a company that teaches and trains mental health clinicians on a nationwide basis, offering both live and web-based programs encompassing the best and most recent knowledge and skills in the field of mental health. 
Cost: $10 per attendee. This webinar supports up to 500 attendees. Paying the $10 with your registration guarantees the participant one of the 500 limited slots. As such, registration fees are non-refundable.

2.0 contact hours of ADACBGA and BHAP approved Continuing Education (CE) credit will be awarded to individuals who are properly registered, attend the Zoom webinar, and complete the course evaluation/survey upon completion of the webinar.

Attendees will be required to complete a course evaluation prior to being awarded a certificate of completion containing continuing education credits. You should expect your certificate within 10 days of completing your survey. The survey is displayed in a tab immediately after the webinar ends and it is emailed to all attendees the day after the webinar.

The webinar will also be live-streamed on the ADACBGA Facebook Page. Facebook live streaming will not award CE credit and is for informational purposes only.
