Thanks to Speakers Who Made Career Symposium a Success

Many thanks to the parents and other community members who participated in the Career Symposium on Friday, sharing information about potential career paths with our AMHS scholars. PIE was grateful to be a part of the event!

PIE Treats Teachers and Staff to Breakfast

On Friday, February 6, before the Career Symposium, PIE treated AMHS teachers and staff to a delicious breakfast spread as a way to thank them for all that they do!

Parents Enjoy a Social Time During Semi-formal

On Saturday, February 7, PIE hosted a parent social at Southern Roots Smokehouse while students attended the Semi-formal. In addition to enjoying a time to meet and mingle with other parents, guests were treated to BBQ sliders, wings, mac and cheese , Caesar salad and banana pudding! Thanks to all of the parents who joined us for the (rescheduled) event!

Join AMHS Students at College of Charleston Basketball Game on Feb. 21! Free Tickets Still Available for Seniors

SENIORS - Secure your ticket and get ready for some hoops fun at TD Arena on Saturday, February 21st at 4 PM! 100 Free Tickets are available for Seniors and Teachers -- it's first come, first served and your e-ticket will be emailed directly to you. The seats are in section 109, so encourage family and underclassmen to purchase seats near that section if they want to join in on the fun!

National Honor Society Students Offer Peer Mentoring

Does your student need help with time management and effective studying? You can now request peer help and mentorship in time management and workflow assistance through the National Honor Society at AMHS.

Parents Needed to Get Involved with PIE

Does your scholar need to make an Override Request for next year's class schedule?

Please use this form to request a course override for the upcoming school year.  Override forms are requests to be CONSIDERED for placement in a class that is not offered or for which you do not currently qualify.


The LAST DAY to make override requests will be February 27, 2026.

Congratulations to AMHS National Honor Society member Isaac Tejeda '26! Isaac secured an NASSP Student Service Grant to purchase bikes for students in need at North Charleston Creative Arts Elementary. NASSP is the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Way to go, Isaac!

Congratulations to Vanessa Nguyen '26 and Yiqing Ye '26 for winning a National Honor Society Scholarship. This is the first time two Academic Magnet High School students have won in the same year and we couldn't be prouder!

The Meeting Street Scholarship Fund provides up to $10,000 per year in college scholarships for high-achieving South Carolina students with a demonstrated financial need (who will be attending an eligible South Carolina college/university).

We're accepting scholarship applications for the 2025-26 school year from January - May. Learn more and apply now at this link.

CCSD is once again offering Summer 2026 internships for rising seniors!


Internships will be offered in 15+ CCSD departments. Students who are interested should apply before February 27th.

Community Service + Activities

Guidance counselors will regularly post opportunities for service on students' Canvas page and those are also sometimes shared on AMHS social media accounts. Students are encouraged to find opportunities for service in their own communities. Additional opportunties that are shared with the Raptor Report are listed below.

Volunteers are needed for the annual Walk for Autism on Saturday April 25th, 2026 from 7 am to 1:30 pm. Any students wishing to volunteer can come for part of the hours or all. If interested in volunteering please contact Rose O'Neal at 843.553.1316 or rrzoneal@hotmail.com. Volunteers will be needed in several tasks: setting up tables and tents, manning jump castles, food stations, silent auction tables, merchandise table, ticket sales and at the end of the event breaking down tables and tents along with clean up.

Faculty, students, and parents are encouraged to submit articles and/or pictures of AMHS events, honors, and needs.
