The Annual AMHS Foundation 'Thanks for Giving Campaign' is Underway - Help us Reach the Goal!

Magnet Parents and Families:

By now, you should have received a letter in the mail and an email last week announcing the launch of our annual Thanks for Giving Campaign. This year, the goal is to raise $50,000 by March 1!

By supporting the Foundation, you will make these programs possible:

  • ACT/SAT prep classes: 10-week Princeton Review class so every student, regardless of the ability to pay, has access to private test preparation
  • Juniors Take Flight: a hands-on workshop with college admission specialists that walks juniors through college applications, essays, resumes and more
  • Continuing Education: faculty professional development and teacher appreciation
  • Summer Scholars for freshman and transfer students
  • We need your help, no matter how big or small–every gift is greatly appreciated!

To give online please visit: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/academicmagnetfoundation. Share this link with grandparents, family, and friends who also may want to support Magnet. And if you've already given, THANK YOU.

Volunteer Hours Form

First of all, what is Camp Saint Christopher? We are an Episcopal Summer Camp located on beautiful Seabrook Island, South Carolina. All are welcome regardless of your spiritual or religious background! With 314 acres of barrier island property, there’s always an adventure to be had! Perhaps you’ll sail or swim on the beach or launch a kayak into the marsh. Maybe you’ll lead a hike on one of our trails (we have 5 miles to choose from!) or host a campfire under the stars. And at the end of the day, you can watch the sunset from the boardwalk or from one of our beachfront cabins with all your new camp friends. Consider joining the team for a fun and rewarding summer leadership opportunity that will also help you reach your volunteer service hour requirements! Learn more at this link!

Volunteers are needed for the Walk for Autism on April 26, 2025 from 7 am to 1:30 pm.  Any students wishing to volunteer can come for part of the hours or all. If interested in volunteering please contact Rose O'Neal at 843-553-1316 or rrzoneal@hotmail.com

Volunteers will assist in several tasks: setting up tables and tents; manning jump castles, food stations, silent auction tables, merchandise table, ticket sales and at the end of the event breaking down tables and tents along with clean up.

Our Lady of Mercy offers volunteer opportunities with various community events, a clothing closet, Downtown soup kitchen, food pantry and after school activities. There are two locations that are welcoming volunteers, one is Downtown on America Street and the other is the primary campus located at 1684 Brownswood Road on John Island. All volunteers have orientation sessions and additional online training if they are working with the afterschool programs. The minimum age required to volunteer is 16.

Interested students can go to this link to learn more and complete a volunteer application: https://www.olmoutreach.org/volunteer. Volunteer Services Manager is Sydni Auvil and she can be reached at 843.559.4109 ext. 100 or via email at sydni.auvil@olmoutreach.org.
