Thank You, Board of Education!
Each and every day we are thankful for our Board of Education and their continued support and dedication to our students, employees and community. These members give countless hours of their personal time to invest in our school district. Throughout this week in particular we get to showcase our appreciation for these individuals as it is Missouri School Board Appreciation Week! To our Board...THANK YOU for ALL you do! #repmoproud

Bus Rider Expectations Valentine's Day Reminder
As Valentine's Day approaches we thought it would be a good idea to remind our families of our bus rider expectations that are put in place to keep everyone safe while riding to and from school each day. Here's a link to those expectations: https://www.republicschools.org/Page/1207. We ask that you pay close attention to items 21-23 as they may relate to items that students may receive at school for this holiday. Should you have questions, please contact the Transportation Facility at 732-3609. Thank you in advance for your help!

Flu Symptoms
This flu season has been particularly rough. As a reminder, the flu is a contagious respiratory  illness caused by the influenza virus. It can be spread from person-to-person through the air by coughing or sneezing or by touching an infected surface and carrying it to your nose or mouth. Check out the graphic for symptoms.

Those experiencing flu-like symptoms should stay home from school and work until at least 24 hours after they no longer have fever without the use of medicine. We recommend consulting with a doctor and making sure those with the flu get plenty of rest and fluids.

Highlights from Social Media: #repmoproud
As a reminder, you can find Republic School District on Facebook and Twitter! In addition, all buildings and the STRIPES 360 program have a Facebook pages. RMS and RHS also have Twitter accounts. Check them out! Here are a few highlights:

FEBRUARY 8:
Congratulations to Courtwarming Queen, Karson Thomas who was escorted by Kendall Hamilton. The entire court looked super sharp tonight! #repmoproud

FEBRUARY 6: Each year the district is proud to partner with People Helping People of Republic for a "Souper Bowl" food drive. This takes place the week prior to the Super Bowl, and is a fun way to challenge our students and employees to donate food items to this great organization. Collectively, 3455 lbs was donated!!! We are so #repmoproud of the big hearts and service minds our students and employees continue to demonstrate! In addition, we appreciate these NHS students pictured below as they transported the donated items to PHP and helped weigh them. Awesome work, everyone!

FEBRUARY 5:
CLICK to watch!
Last week we announced that Republic School District received 100% on our Annual Performance Report, which is essentially our report card from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This week we are enjoying celebrations with our students at the building level, and have had fun celebrating our staff as well with visits from the Hurts Donut truck. We made this video and shared with our employees last week to surprise them with the 100% APR announcement, and we thought you all might enjoy seeing it as well! Dr. Wistrom sure does like donuts! #repmoproud #workhardplayhard

FEBRUARY 1:
Today is Wear Red Day for the American Heart Association! We don't like to trade our  orange and black very often, but we are sure #REPMOPROUD to wear RED today! Post your "Wear Red Day" pictures below or tag us using #REPMOFunFitFridays!

FEBRUARY 1:
EXCITING POST ALERT!!!
Each year the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) generates an Annual Performance Report (APR) for all districts across the state. This performance accountability tool is used to review our district's performance and is called the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) 5. It takes a look at performance standards like MAP/EOC scores, graduation rates, attendance rates, ACT scores, etc. to determine accreditation and performance le vels.

We are pleased to announce that the Republic School District RECEIVED 100% OF THE POINTS POSSIBLE!! This is the very first time EVER for Republic School District to achieve 100%!!

This is an increase from last year's score of 99.3%. As the graphic indicates, the district has been on a steady increase of improvement!

Although this "score" is incredibly important, the Republic School District continues to be focused upon and continuously monitoring our community created Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). This strategic plan is our district's road map to best meet the needs of our students here in Republic! We're very pleased with the progress we've made with our CSIP goals as well. A full report can be found at https://www.republicschools.org/csip.
Republic School District district attributes these successes to the hard work of our students and employee team! There has been a very intentional focus on goal setting and addressing individual gaps in student achievement. Way to go Tigers!  #REPMOPROUD
Youth E-Cigarette Epidemic
Recently the U.S. Surgeon General released a rare advisory and dedicated website on e-cigarettes and the epidemic of vaping by youths. E-cigarettes come in many forms, including JUULs. Unfortunately, there is a misconception that e-cigarettes are "healthier" than regular cigarettes, which is highly false. We encourage you to take a look at this information and speak with your children, as you feel appropriate, about this subject.

Winter Weather Notification Information
With winter weather season upon us, please take note of the below ways district patrons and employees will be notified of school being canceled.
  • Voice call and text message (It's important for us to send both to reach all patrons.) Be sure you have opted-in to receive texts from us! Details on this can be found HERE.
  • District website
  • Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • Local media announcement
We encourage our families to have a plan in place for potential school cancellations. Keep in mind that the Winter Escape program via STRIPES 360 is an option for our families. ( CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION)

Also, it is important to review our district calendar ( HERE) and take note of the dates that have been scheduled as make-up days for cancellations.

Digital Resources for Students
One critical component of the RepMO Ready Plan includes the use of various approved online websites and tools to enhance the learning experience.  School districts are permitted to consent on behalf of parents of students when the tools are designated for educational purposes and require a student login.  Our list of approved resources continues to grow as we discover more resources that support student learning.  Parents can always access this growing list on our district website HERE.
