Dear Friend of CCSD93,
CCSD93 Bands Display Skills at Winter Concerts
This week, Jay Stream and Stratford's Bands hosted winter concerts, and last week, 5th grade Band students from all CCSD93 schools played a show together at Stratford.

The 5th grade concert was originally planned as two separate shows the week prior but needed to be rescheduled to a single concert because of the weather. The unique circumstances made it the biggest combined 5th grade band in CCSD93 history!

At all three shows, the level of student skill on display was truly impressive. CCSD93's School Board has long prioritized providing well rounded educational opportunities for
students, including a strong commitment to the arts, and the students' abilities really speak to the value of such offerings. I thank Band Directors Mrs. Amy Dandeles, Mrs. Sherri Steinke, and Mrs. Cathrine Savino for giving our students a terrific musical foundation upon which to build and grow.
Elementary Student Overall Satisfaction High, Targeted Opportunities for Improvement Identified
Each year, we give a Satisfaction Survey to CCSD93's parents, students, and staff members. The resulting data is examined by district leaders to help us understand what is working well within the district and better target where to focus efforts for improvement. On a school level, Building Leadership Teams and principals examine the data, and it's used as an integral component within School Improvement Plans.

This year, our elementary students registered a strong score for Overall Satisfaction with the School Year, on a similar level to scores in this overarching category in recent years. We also saw consistently high scores in how they rated their Main Teacher and their Principal. We did, however, observe dips in elementary student ratings for School Atmosphere and Equipment & Facilities. While this year's ratings in these categories are by no means low, as you can see by the ratings and the scale in the Elementary Student Satisfaction Survey Quick Glance image above, we are seeking to determine a root cause of these downward trends and implement action plans to reverse them.

Identifying key areas and opportunities for improvement is exactly why we perform the the Satisfaction Survey each year, and why we are grateful for each parent, student, and staff member for taking the time to give us feedback.
