Greetings Good People!

Hope you all enjoyed a loving Valentine's Day though I am a firm believer that every day we wake up presents an opportunity to shower our loved ones with kisses and hugs.

I hold the same philosophy when it comes to Black History Month. In Ward F, we recognize the need to celebrate Black History 365, which is why we'd like to promote our local Black entrepreneurs who create job opportunities in Jersey City and add to the economic development of Ward F.  Whether you are a business owner or a loyal customer, please use this form to help us grow our list of local Black-Owned Business to highlight on our website, www.EverythingWardF.com.

Here are other resources with information on how you can celebrate Black History:

Additionally, it is also imperative that we pay attention to what our local government is up to ALL YEAR LONG, not just when the budget is proposed as there are additions and amendments to budget proposals taking place throughout the year. This is why we invite you to join us every other Saturday for our Community Caucus, where we FOLLOW THE MONEY. Normally held at 11 am, today's Caucus will begin at 1 pm due to my participation in the Men's Breakfast Panel Discussion at St. John's.

Hope to see you soon!

Be great on purpose,

Councilman Frank Educational Gilmore

Message from the Sherwood-Claremont Neighborhood:

Hi Neighbors,

We have two items on the agenda for our community meeting this Wednesday. We will also have an open discussion at the end to discuss your concerns.

Sherwood Claremont Neighborhood Association Community Meeting

Wednesday, February 22nd at 6:30pm

on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84463679426

or use a regular phone and dial 646-558-8656 and enter Meeting ID: 844 6367 9426

1) Proposed Development in the Junction at Communipaw and Grand

Join us for a presentation of proposed amendments to the Morris Canal Redevelopment Plan that will change the maximum number of floors at 723 Grand Street in the Junction from 3 floors to 6 floors to accommodate a proposed building with 67 units (7 affordable) and 17 parking spaces (4 standard, 8 compact, 3 electric vehicles and 2 ADA.) This is the site behind the chairs and chess table area at the corner of Communipaw and Grand.

We also have two new establishments in the Junction and one that is relocating. Join this meeting to learn more!

2) Proposed Changes to the R-1, One- and Two-Family Zone

We will discuss proposed changes to the R-1, one- and two-family, 3 floor tall zone in our community. The changes include a reduction in on-site parking requirements, allowing 4 floor tall apartment buildings at 5 feet from the sidewalk, front property line, and allowing commercial spaces at street corners within the side streets of our neighborhood. Your thoughts are important as the Jersey City Planning Office is taking feedback on these proposed changes.

See you there!
