ON CAMPUS
Rebecca Eckstein, a parent, submitted this story about her son's experience at Morning Star. We are so happy to hear this great news.

My son has been with Morning Star since the 3rd Grade. They are the best teachers and staff that I could ask for my son. They treat him with Respect and help guide him to where he needs to be. They truly care about the kids and want the best for them. I couldn’t ask for a better place for him and these kids.

We had a wonderful Ash Wednesday Mass. During Mass Fr. Boddie asked all students to pray the Hail Mary three times a day during Lent. To assist our students get into a good spiritual habit of praying teachers and staff are having them pray the Hail Marys throughout the school day. But, please encourage you student to pray at home.
Our wonderful music teacher, Mrs. Militante, came up with a very creative way to teach students our mission statement. She taught them to use body percussion as they recited the MSS mission statement (below). Ask your students to perform it for you at home!

PRIMARY NEWS
For Presidents Day students had fun answering questions such as, "If I were President I would...?", and "If you had Abraham Lincoln's hat what would you put in it?".
INTERMEDIATE
Students learned about text features, all the components of a story that are not the main body of text, by making flamingos!
JUNIOR HIGH NEWS
Junior High 2 enjoyed celebrating Mardi Gras by making masks and eating King Cake. They found the baby in the cake and one of the students made a bed for it!
Junior High 1 students had "show & share" with their classmates.
HIGH SCHOOL NEWS
The bright spot of our high school students day was receiving a message from MSS graduate Jojo Peterson. She encouraged a roommate to join her for noon Mass on Ash Wednesday and sent us a smiling photo of them with their ashes. We’re proud of you, Jojo, for fostering faith!
