Monday News and Updates

February 27 , 2023

Good Monday Evening!

Last Friday we had another incredible “Adventures in Learning”! SCT's longtime friend, Kevin McFarland, our News and Views presenter facilitator, was here, along with Ken and Cathy Scroggs of Hope Ranch and Riding Center, Bluebird Taylor with Baker University Wetlands & Discovery Center, and legendary retired 13 News anchor Ralph Hipp was our last program of the month.  Ralph brought several autographed books and shared many interesting and humorous stories of famous people he had encountered.  And did you know Ralph was an impersonator of Nixon, Clinton, Johnny Carson, and others?  We had a lot of fun!

Topeka Presbyterian Manor provided refreshments and five door prizes during our break at Adventures in Learning! Thank you, Danica, for providing our wonderful snacks and sharing about Presbyterian Manor’s services. For more information about TPM, click on the following link: Topeka Presbyterian Manor.

The Topeka Genealogical Society has provided numerous programs to Shepherd Center's Adventures in Learning and the MAP group over the years, and they are offering a FREE session to get you started in genealogy research. Don't know where to begin? No problem, the Topeka Genealogical Society is here to help! Sign up for "Getting Started in Genealogy Research", Saturday, March 4, 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. You must pre-register because space is limited. Click on this link to TGS Register Online and reserve your spot!

Watch for our newsletter with April "Adventures in Learning" (AiL) registration, and our featured member and volunteer articles. Online registration for AiL will be open on Wednesday. For the digital version of our newsletter click here: March/April Newsletter.

Have a blessed week!
