October seemed to roll by so quickly! Let's take a look at the fun stuff that we have done this month!
We started off October in the past- specifically in Ancient Egypt where
Joe both did different activities involving the kiddos building structures in the same way the Egyptians built the pyramids.
Charlotte had the kids decode some hieroglyphics and write their own messages on their TP Mummy Wraps!
We then transitioned to the future where looked at the possibility of flying cars, and learned more about space and what it would be like to live up there.
showed us a video of how water behaves in space...which is wild!
See it here
! On the full day opening, we imagined MAP in 2050 - where our gym games involved hover cars and we all had jetpacks!
We then spent a week looking at Paleontology, where
Chris talked about the Ice Ages, and we spent a few days brushing up on our dinosaur knowledge while making fossils.
Maureen even dusted off the old preschool "We are the Dinosaurs" song in babysitters club!
We ended the month with some spooky groups.
Alex took everyone through the abandoned city of Pripyat in the shadow of Chernobyl, and
Maureen taught about bats!
This year we are putting a bigger emphasis on unique experiences on Fridays! This year we have already done three different and exciting things on Fridays that the kids have enjoyed.
We began with a mad scientist coming in and doing a dry ice presentation...which culminated in exploding a bottle as the finale outside!
then spent another Friday talking about giving back, then led by example by getting her hair cut in front of everyone to donate to cancer patients. Our most recent fun Friday we invited
father Jose in to share his card game!
is a super hero themed game that the kids have had a TON of fun playing! You can check the game out
Do you, or someone you know have an interesting hobby or profession that the kids would enjoy learning about? Reach out to Alex! We'd love to set something up to further enrich the program!
